What do people think of the name Dash for a boy?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
EmmaGrundyForPM · 14/09/2017 07:40

The writer Dashiel Hammond was always known as Dash.

backaftera2yearbreak · 14/09/2017 07:37

Nobody would be stupid enough to call their child that surely?

RightOnTheEdge · 14/09/2017 07:34

I don't know about Queen Victoria, but I'm sure I saw Queen Elizabeth talking about calling a corgi puppy Dash.

I actually quite like the name but he would have to have the personality to suit it.

EssentialHummus · 14/09/2017 07:20

You know what? I actually like it. I'm surprised by the response here.

Newbiecat · 14/09/2017 07:18

Dreadful - reminds me of the popular 80s twee clothing brand

MumBod · 14/09/2017 07:16

Go for it. If you have a girl next you can call her Dot.

Then you can train them to move in formation to insult the neighbours/your MIL/whoever without them realising.

Tiddlywinks63 · 14/09/2017 07:14

Then a sister called Dot?
Awful idea, poor kid.

TanginaBarrons · 14/09/2017 07:10

Dashiell is very north London try hard though...

Mum2OneTeen · 14/09/2017 06:58

No!

MiniMaxi · 14/09/2017 06:44

I like it! Short for Dashiell so he has options

purpledonkey · 14/09/2017 06:38

For a dog, great.
For a human, Christ no

Becles · 14/09/2017 06:37

Just no

Jooni · 14/09/2017 06:19

I like it, love Dashiell. I think both will pick up in popularity a bit once the next Incredibles film comes out next year.

Abbylee · 13/09/2017 23:35

Its something to live up to. We bought our home from one. He did not.

mrwalkensir · 13/09/2017 23:34

love it. Have you considered Bay too?

GaryBarlowsTaxReturn · 13/09/2017 23:32

I love it! As short for Dashiell. Cate Blanchett called her son this.

indigox · 13/09/2017 23:29

No.

Pallisers · 13/09/2017 23:28

Wasn't that Elizabeth Barett Browning's dog?

If it is a cool, just happened to turn out like that nickname it is fine. I know someone called Ace because those are his initials. If you just give the name, it sounds very try-hard to be very cool/hip.

Only if you also have a comma and a colon. grin

Love this

MoonfaceAndSilky · 13/09/2017 23:23

What about Billy Whizz instead? Grin

Roseformeplease · 13/09/2017 23:22

What about the other reindeer?

Sophronia · 13/09/2017 23:21

Ok if short for Dashiell
