What do you think of the name Michael? Siblings are Emma, Grace, Julia, Jakob, Matthew and Andrew. I wanted to name the baby Peter but my husband now wants his name to be Michael! Possible middle name ideas would be great! Thank you

Love it. Never met one who wasn't a handsome, straightforward, thoroughly decent person.

One of my very dear relatives is a Michael, so I'm biased and think it's a wonderful, underused, strong name. Middle names with a similar tone - Michael William, Michael Robert, Michael Joseph?

Great name.

One of my absolutely favourite names

Thank you! I also like Michael Peter, Michael Anthony and Michael Patrick!

Michael is a great name! I much prefer it to the Alfie, Stanley, Freddie etc names that are on trend now.

Middle names: Michael Patrick, Michael John, Michael Anthony, Michael Joseph, Michael Joshua, Michael David, Michael Austin? I also like Michael Peter as a pp mentioned.

On another note, Micheal mentioned above is also a lovely name in it's own right - Irish.

I like it more than most "traditional" boys names. It's a strong name.

I like it

I like it, but you'll have a lot of people spelling it Micheal .... from the experience of people called Michael that I have known.

Why not have Peter as the middle name? I think Michael Peter has a really nice ring. Two strong, traditional names.

I like it. Good for a boy, good for a man. It's a popular name where I am.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 12/09/2017 22:16

Nice name unless you want to shorten it and your surname is "Hunt".

Mrsknackered · 12/09/2017 22:15

Jackson and Gove really taint my opinion of it. I also think it's a little boring, sorry.

Sophronia · 12/09/2017 22:15

Love it!

LOVE Michael!! I think it's a gorgeous name and it was high on my list for a boy (I have two girls). I think it's a strong but gentle name (daft I know! ) with lots of great nn potential... Mikey, Mickey, Mick, Mike etc.
