Rylee or Eden

For a boy, I like these two.
They would have a more 'proper' middle name, either Anthony or James

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FizzyGreenWater · 12/09/2017 17:04

Oh sorry misread. Was thinking it was for a girl. Sorry, Eden no good for a boy! Nice girl's name though.

Annabelle4 · 12/09/2017 16:57

Why not just call him Lee?

SilverySurfer · 12/09/2017 16:50

Both awful and if I saw a child called Rylee I would assume the parents were illiterate.

mogulfield · 12/09/2017 16:49

It's unfair and snobby but I know of recruiters who would overlook applications with either of these names on it.
I'm not saying it's right, it's just how the world is.

Reilly (originally O'Reilly) is an Irish surname. I'm sick of English people taking Irish surnames and turning them into first names - why?! The spelling people usually use for the first name is Riley. You could still call him Lee for short if his name was Riley - nicknames don't have to have the same spelling (e.g. Thomas and Tom, Nicholas and Nick etc).

Rylee looks like you either can't spell or are deliberately trying to be different (in a bad way).

Eden I think sounds girly.

James and Anthony (Jamie, Jim, Jimmy, Ant, Tony all cute nicknames) are great classic names, no one will laugh at or sneer at your son the way some people on this thread would do, and I think he will thank you for it.

ChequeredPasta · 12/09/2017 13:41

What exactly is it that you like about these names OP? Why do you prefer the 'Rylee' spelling to 'Riley'? They sound the same, but one is spelt incorrectly. What exactly do you like about this spelling? It makes me wince, it doesn't make me think 'Oh how unique'. My assumption would be that you do not know how to spell.

You say you would like a more 'proper' middle name, is that because you feel that these names would be judged badly? If so, why not just choose a more traditional name?

I'm pretty sure your teenaged son would thank you for calling him James rather than Rylee or Eden.

What do you think your child would choose for themselves? I can't imagine many young men wanting to be called 'Eden' or 'Rylee'.

I have met some very unfortunately named children (Though none as unfortunate as 'Rylee' - it can have a massive impact on self-esteem.

euanthesheepiloveyou · 12/09/2017 13:15

Rylee is beyond awful. Just really, really bad. Eden is very feminine but better than Rylee.

FizzyGreenWater · 12/09/2017 12:08

What on earth is the problem with Eden? Know two, nice name, quite MC if anything! (not that that should matter at all!)

lunar1 · 12/09/2017 11:37

Both awful!

00100001 · 12/09/2017 11:36

Eden is a nice name. I like it.

numbmum83 · 12/09/2017 11:15

I think this has gotta be a wind up .
Rylee and Eden are awful
Blu is awful
Beau looks girlie to me too

Riley is just about acceptable .

Montsti · 12/09/2017 10:36

Sorry but I really dislike Riley/Rylee etc...

Eden is ok but I would've thought that it was a girl...

FizzyGreenWater · 12/09/2017 00:07

Druse and Noush

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 11/09/2017 23:57

What about Bruce and Nosh?

SirNiallDementia · 11/09/2017 23:55

Why do you keep starting new threads? Just stick to the one and add to it when you think of any more names you like.

Sophronia · 11/09/2017 23:52

How about Noah Anthony or Noah James?

peachandplum · 11/09/2017 23:52

Should be some kind of test before you're allowed to breed.

Call your child misfit- will probably go better than anything else you've chosen.

Sophronia · 11/09/2017 23:51

Boo Radley Grin

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 11/09/2017 23:51

Beau Diddley?

Chickoletta · 11/09/2017 23:50

Sounds like Boo Radley to me (To Kill a Mockingbird)

Only1scoop · 11/09/2017 23:49

Oh no not you again Grin

peachandplum · 11/09/2017 23:48

Beau is also horrible. Can't you just give your kid a normal name?

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 11/09/2017 23:47

Are you just randomly picking letters from a Scrabble set to make up names?
