Thoughts on Alana / Alanna?

My DM suggested it last night and I think it's quite pretty. Think I prefer the Alana spelling to any others. Other girls names on our shortlist are Tabitha and Robin... Thoughts welcome!

I've always liked Alanah, there are a couple in our family already (an Alana and an Alanah), otherwise it may have been a contender for DDs name. My favourite spelling is Alannah but they are all nice.

I've always loved Alanah, it was on my girls names lost before we settled on something else

That's true about the pronunciation. I would be using 'Al-arn-a'. Tabitha has been my favourite since day one but it seems to be a bit of a marmite name IRL (less so on MN).

Robin is sweet if you baby is due round Christmas, Tabitha is quite spunky and Alana is more in fitting with a modern sound to my ears.

How about Alanah?

Prefer Tabitha from your list.

Alana/Alanna - some will pronounce it Alan-a, some Al-arn-a, some A-lanna, possibly?
