Lee or Selina for a girl?

Hi there, I've been sorta browsing the forums for a few months now but only just joined. Me and my fiance are currently TTC, but we are already thinking of baby names!

For a girl, I really can't make up my mind between Lee or Selina. If it's a boy we already have a name picked out.

I love both names, but I just can't choose! We also are sort of stuck for middle names if we go with Lee. We would be giving the baby his surname (McGuire), so also want that to flow well. So far, thus is how they would flow

Selina Lee McGuire
Lee (maybe something) McGuire

Any opinions and suggestions for middle names would be really appreciated ❤

I would also assume Lee was a boy. Lea is a prettier spelling. Selina is lovely.

I do like the idea of having a Selina nicknamed Lee.

Personally, I just prefer the Lee spelling over Leigh, don't really know why.

Flipperty no, I just like the names and have liked then since I was a little girl. I don't know what you mean about a "recognisable girls name", it's unisex and have met quite a few girls with their name spelled that way so I think that's a bit harsh.

Lea and Leah are lovely too 😊

If you called her Selina, you could use Lee as a nickname, so she could be both.

I know a female Lee. She's a nice lady.

I think Selina Lee is a good combination.

One of my daughter's middle name is Leigh, in honour of my brothers name which is Lee

dotdotdotmustdash · 08/09/2017 17:15

Leah? Leanne?

I may be biased as I have a Leah.

I know this is personal to me, but both the girl Lees and Selinas I have known haven't been nice people so I don't like either of those names.

FlippertyJibbet · 08/09/2017 17:14

Selina Lee does already have a 'lee' sound in the Selina it sounds odd to double it up. Couldn't you shorten Selina to 'Lee' then at least she'd have a recognisable girls name.

FlippertyJibbet · 08/09/2017 17:09

Why do you want Lee as a girls name? Does it have some special meaning for you or something?

BelindaBlinked · 08/09/2017 17:09

If I saw the name Lee written down I would assume it was a male. Don't think I've ever seen it spelt that way for a female.

CherieBabySpliffUp · 08/09/2017 17:08

I would spell it Leigh.
