Grace or Scarlett? (Has arrived early!)

Our little girl is a few weeks early, so we'd like to finalise. I think I would be sold on Scarlett, but she's having my surname (begins with an s, so it makes me unsure...) Sad

Which do you prefer?

Awww congratulations

I love Scarlett

Congratulations! Flowers

I like both names but a friend's little Scarlett always gets her name shortened to Scar which I hate!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/09/2017 06:00

Grace.

Scarlett

Scarlett. Congratulations 🎈

Lobsterquadrille2 · 05/09/2017 06:41

I'd go for Scarlett. I avoided Grace because my surname also begins with an S and it felt as if it "ran on" because Grace ends with the same sound. Congratulations!

Pangur2 · 05/09/2017 06:46

Scarlet is slang for embarrassed or mortified in Ireland, so I'd go for Grace to be honest.

milleniumhandandprawn · 05/09/2017 08:15

Definitely Scarlett from me - ESPECIALLY because your name begins with S.

Since I got married my name and surname start with the same sound - I really like it, makes me sound like a newsreader :)

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 05/09/2017 08:17

Scarlett is lovely !

blueskyinmarch · 05/09/2017 08:20

My surname starts with an S and both my DD's have middle names with an S sound (Rose and Grace). It sounds good. What about Scarlett with Grace as the middle name. Sounds lovely.

Coey2016 · 05/09/2017 11:14

Scarlett

stellarfox · 05/09/2017 12:53

Both names are lovely. The only thing that bothers me with Scarlett is that people also use the spelling Scarlet and I would be worried about having to correct people. Saying that I would probably still choose Scarlett over Grace

Sophronia · 05/09/2017 17:22

Grace

Crumbelina · 05/09/2017 17:31

Scarlett! Especially as your surname begins with an S. I love alliterative names!

Tattybogle89 · 05/09/2017 19:57

Scarlett. Grace was very popular for a while and lots of middle name graces about
