Could you give me a quick guesstimate on how popular Clara is?

I really like

Clara
Margot
Martha

However - thought Margot and Martha may be making a comeback, but what about Clara?

My other two DC have similar style names - not too kitsch (in my opinion), not too popular, and not too 'nana'.

Any other names gladly received! Thank you

I know 1 Clara aged 5, no Margots and 1 Martha aged 19. I really like them all but if i had to pick i would choose Margot. I think it's a beautiful name

I have a friend Clara pronounced like Sarah. I prefer the Zara pronunciation though and think that is much more common. In fact I was not aware it could be pronounced like Sarah before I met my friend.

I've worked with children for 15 years and have only ever had one Martha. No Claras or Margots

I've never met any (have taught for many years and have a toddler so know lots of children!) and I really like it.

I know 2 Marthas and no Margots.

Clah-rah is the way we pronounce it. The only person who has said it Claire-ah was a canadian

I'd class Clah-ruh as the English way now. Claire-uh is the way Americans would tend to pronounce it but that's pretty much it.

I'm westcountry raised, I'd pronounce it Clah-rah. Never heard the Claire-uh way of pronouncing it. Is that a north / south thing maybe?

I know one Clara (27) and it's pronounced clah-ruh - I'm south UK. Love the name. Agree it's getting more well known but not super popular, much like Mabel. Really like Margot - I think of Margot Robbie, but I'm not keen on how it looks on paper. Martha is nice. I think Clara goes better with Mabel as not another Ma- name but they are all lovely names!

@BalconyBunting it would be Clah-rah but didn't realise this was a European pronunciation. My DM's aunt Clara was the inspiration.

Would that come across as a bit fancy? (We are very English)

I love Clara because of Clara Bow and the film "It". I do think an M name like Margot or Martha along with your Mabel sounds a bit matchy matchy, like you wanted twins?

Btw are you pronouncing Clara the English way (Clare-uh) or European way (Clah-ruh)?

I do know a couple of baby Martha's though so it might be a bit more popular?

Clara was on the shortlist for my dd and would use it in the future. I like all your names but 2 M' s might mean people opening post that's not for them in the future!

I know a few young Claras and Marthas but no Margots.

Not keen on any of them and watch out for Clara being pronounced as Claire ra in the some parts.

Mabel and Clara are such lovely names together.

Personally I'd avoid two 'm' names, although I do like Martha a lot. I like Margot too but can't get over it looking like maggot...

Clara is super common here...(midlands). As is Martha. Don't know any Margots though. That's lovely.

Oh sorry, I misread. You already have Mabel 😳 Mortified!! As I say, pretty name. I think it goes with Martha or Clara just fine.

Martha is my favourite girl's name. I only know one - a child aged seven-ish. It's my confirmation name, so two if I count myself.

Clara is lovely too. I don't know any Claras.

Mabel is a bit nana for my taste but pretty enough.

I know of a 5 year old and a 1 year old Clara. I love the name and think Clara and Mabel go very well together. (Not keen on your other names).

I don't know any 'Claras I think Mabel and Clara is lovely. I prefer it to both names with m initials.
