Hana

Mol1628 · 30/08/2017 18:42

Alma

stellarfox · 30/08/2017 18:41

I like Hana but wouldn't use this spelling as it will so often get mistaken for Hannnah (unless you have a connection to Japan or other country where it's common). Livia is pretty but I would go for Olivia. Alma Im not keen on personally. They are all nice names though so see which suits her

PoppyPopcorn · 30/08/2017 18:37

Alma, unless you want her to go through life saying "Hana, with one N and no H at the end" or "Livia, like Olivia but without the O".

travis45 · 30/08/2017 17:10

Alma for me 😊

Broxibear · 30/08/2017 17:10

Livia

DuggeeHugs · 30/08/2017 17:07

Livia

Chloris33 · 30/08/2017 16:26

Alma.

Eledamorena · 30/08/2017 16:04

Livia is a 'proper' name - it was the name.of Emperor Augustus' wife so has been around 2000 years or so! Nowhere near as commonly used as Olivia, but a 'proper' name nonetheless!

HoratioNightboy · 30/08/2017 16:04

I love Livia but hate Olivia, and prefer it from your name list. But as you can see from this and previous threads where it's come up, people just assume it's a "unique"version of Olivia rather than a completely separate name. Clearly I, Claudius isn't on the curriculum any more!

I think Livia's niece was named Livilla after her. Would this be an option for you, OP?

Glumglowworm · 30/08/2017 15:48

Hana

Leeela · 30/08/2017 14:26

Livia White Smile

SumAndSubstance · 30/08/2017 14:25

but have you considered Alba?
I don't really get why the OP would particularly want to call her daughter White White Confused
I like Hana best, though they are all nice names.

MammieBear · 30/08/2017 14:01

Alma White

AmyGardner · 30/08/2017 13:28

Alma is very old lady - to my mind, not cool old lady either!

I prefer Livia, but don't understand why you wouldn't use the proper name for it.

ShmooBooMoo · 30/08/2017 13:22

I quite like Livia but have you considered Alba? Take a look at why I'm suggesting it, esp under 'meaning & history of the nam Alba' bit :) :

I think Alba Anais White sounds nice.

I saw this about Anais:
In French its an-ay-ees with emphasis on the ees part, in Spanish its an-ice.

Also, Alba Hanae (pronounced han-eye, I believe). There is a japanese perfumer named Hanae Mori.
From Japanese 花 (hana) or 華 (hana), which both mean "flower", combined with 絵 (e) meaning "picture" or 恵 (e) meaning "favour, benefit".

Even Alba Livia Hana or Hanae White is really nice! Grin

Bubblesoup · 30/08/2017 13:08

Hana - but spelt Hannah or Hanna.
Otherwise, Alma.
Hope all goes well on Friday!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/08/2017 13:07

Livia White

Amee1992x · 30/08/2017 13:07

Alma!

Sophronia · 30/08/2017 13:03

Alma!

Copperbeech33 · 30/08/2017 13:03

Hana is lovely, so is Alma, I agree Livia is too common, and would consider Lavinia.

but my overall vote goes to Hana.

PsychoPumpkin · 30/08/2017 13:01

I love Alma!

grufallosfriend · 30/08/2017 13:00

Alma is beautiful! And not overused. Great choice.

Livia is a bit boring due to there being so many Olivias, Livvies, etc already

Sunshinegirls · 30/08/2017 12:01

Olivia is the most popular baby name in the UK at the moment so I wouldn't choose Livia because she would be in a class full of other Olivia's though it is lovely. I think Alma is gorgeous. All good choices though

RebeccaCloud9 · 30/08/2017 11:56

Is it pronounced Hannah or Harna?
