Thoughts on Keira?

Do you like the name?

Do you know many?

Keira or Kiera? (I don't like the C spelling sorry)

Middle names? Jasmine, Jean or Jessica?

Obviously biased but I love Keira 😊 Keira Jean has more of an edge for me followed by Keira Jasmine

I know an adult Kiara (she's Irish). I think it's beautiful!

For me, Kiara Jean then Kiara Jasmine.

I only know of 2 Keiras who were in my school when I was younger. And 1 baby (firend of a friend who doesn't live near us). So I am hoping the name won't be too popular but still a common name that everyone has heard of. I named my first child Harry not realising how popular it was, he was 1 of 3 at his nursery. Oups! Smile

I did think Jessica might be too many A's. My other options were Keira Leigh or Keira Skye. However my other 2 children both have J middle names (wasn't intentional) so i thought it would be nice if this one had the same. (All their first names start with different letters)

Keira is just lovely. With Jean or Jasmine. Not Jessica (love the name but too many As iyswim).

I love it. It's one of my best friends names and she's fantastic.
I like the Keira spelling too. Kiera looks awkward for some reason

I don't know any little Keira's (kiera looks like it should be pronounced Ky-ra).

My neighbour is called Keira - early 30s

And i also know a 14 year old Keira

Just makes me think of Keira Grundy in The Archers (as in her mother, or Susan Carter, "Oh, Keeeeera....". I would go with Ciara.

Definitely Keira. My daughters name, she's 21 Smile her second name begins with J so I love keira jean.

I really don't like the Ciara spelling, as mentioned, thanks though.

It seeks Keira is the way to go then, whixh is the way I would initially spell it wothout thinking.

We nearly had Jasmine for my first daughter so it would be nice to have it as a middle name now. Its the one my son chose too, i just wasnt sure how well ot flowed.

Must admit, I much prefer Ciara.

Doesn't the letter K not exist in the Irish alphabet? Regardless, to me, 'Irish' names that begin with a K look like bastardised Anglicised versions.

I know quite a few using both K and C from age 15 and down.

I'd choose Jean as a first name.

I agree re the spelling of Ciara just becasues of presonal preferance, but Keira is spelt correctly, it just has nothing to do with Ciaran or Kieran.

I'd go with Ciara, as
a) it's correct, and
b) it distances the name from Keira Knightley.

And Jasmine!

Actually I should say that Ciar is the feminine form of Ciar. Ciaran/Kieran is the diminutive. the "an" bit meaning little or small.

The "correct" spelling imo is either Ciara or Keira.

Ciara is the feminine form of Ciaran and Keira is the feminine form of Keir (Scottish name)

Kiera is the feminine form of Kieran which is the anglisied version of Ciaran.

We have a Keira so biased! I love it.

People misspell it Kiera which annoys me as I got overruled with Ciara spelling as DH said none would spell / pronounce it properly!

I've a nephew who's a Kieran/Keiran (I forget which Blush). His parents considered the C spelling but knew it wouldn't work where they live (not UK). And to sort out the best choice of spelling they asked each of their parents to write down the name; either 3 or all 4 spelt it the same way so that was the one they went with!
