Just that really
I like it but I can't help but feel it's a bit 90s?

Ah NoCapes, didn't realise you were pregnant! Followed your GEG thread!

Sophronia · 29/08/2017 19:21

I went to school with a Hephzibah! Grin

IdaBiscuit · 29/08/2017 18:33

Yes it is I think

NoCapes · 29/08/2017 18:05

Errol I can totally see a hipster baby being called Hepzibah Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 29/08/2017 18:00

Erm, no. It's a Biblical name. They don't 'date'.

Well, I think there are a few which did - Hepzibah? Grin

Sophronia · 29/08/2017 17:42

I agree they'll come back again at some point, as will Stephen, Paul, Judith, Jeremy etc., but right now they're seen as dated.

Applesandpears56 · 29/08/2017 17:36

Deborah and mark will be back in fashion soon enough - biblical names never fully go away

Sophronia · 29/08/2017 17:31

Of course Biblical names date! What about Deborah and Mark? Don't see many babies called those names nowadays.

PandaCat · 29/08/2017 16:08

I know of a toddler Joshua. I don't think it's popular now, but I wouldn't say it's dated

starkid · 29/08/2017 15:41

I think Joshua is timeless

NoCapes · 29/08/2017 11:13

Annabelle YES! I would definitely pronounce it like Rachel does Grin

Annabelle4 · 29/08/2017 11:08

Oh I love it. Had never even thought of it before. Really great name.

Remember when Rachel in friends was dating a Joshua? Josh-u-a Grin

Lemondrop99 · 29/08/2017 10:54

I don't know expat, I'd agree that most biblical/ancient names don't date. But then I think of Jason, which definitely has a strong 80s vibe to me and feeling dated at the moment.

Joshua is lovely. Go for it.

NoCapes · 29/08/2017 09:45

Ah I'm glad it's got such a good reception and you don't think it's dated
Maybe that's due to there being a couple of Joshua's in my year at school in the 90's

It is a definite maybe now Grin

'I think it's considered a bit dated in America where it was more popular in the 80s, but not really in the UK.'

Erm, no. It's a Biblical name. They don't 'date'. Hmm

butterfly56 · 29/08/2017 09:42

Timeless classic name which I think is a lovely name

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 29/08/2017 09:38

Great !

Sophronia · 28/08/2017 23:11

I think it's considered a bit dated in America where it was more popular in the 80s, but not really in the UK.

Applesandpears56 · 28/08/2017 21:50

Not dated at all - love it

BlueberryPuffin · 28/08/2017 21:29

It's been in the top 20 for at least the last 2 decades. So no, it's not just a 90s name.

PonderLand · 28/08/2017 21:05

I love the name Joshua, there's a Dolly Parton song about a Joshua which I love!

Decaffstilltastesweird · 28/08/2017 20:39

I associate it with the 90s too for some reason. I don't know if anyone born now would though.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 28/08/2017 20:25

homeless classic Grin

It's a lovely name, OP

Coey2016 · 28/08/2017 20:06

Know a couple of little Joshua's so I don't consider it dated Smile

Viviennemary · 28/08/2017 20:00

I think it's nice name and not dated at all. What a relief to see a good name at last on here.
