Libby? Do you immediately think of Elizabeth?

We like the name Libby if our bump turns out to be a girl but it appears to be a nickname/derivative of Elizabeth.

A very close family member is called Elizabeth.

Does it scream Elizabeth to you?

I think Libby in 2017 is more likely to be a standalone name rather than a nickname. If I assumed nickname it would be shortened from Liberty.

It sounds lovely as a standalone name

DSis is an Olivia and is nicknamed Libby so it makes me think of her!

I wouldn't think of Elizabeth at all. I know one - who is Liberty...but I think it's a really nice stand alone name.

I like it and think I'd be happy with using it even though it might be a bit nicknamey but not if everyone will say 'oh as in Elizabeth, like X (family member).

I do like the name Libby but I would assume it was short for something else. But if its a name you like you should go for it. Its not a bad name on its own.

I know two who are just Libby. Aged mid twenties and about 13 so I'd say it's perfectly fine as a name on it's own.

Could possibly be Liberty, but it is usually known as a shortening for Elizabeth.
