Don't mind it. Prefer Georgina though. Plenty of both round these parts.

Glumglowworm · 24/08/2017 21:13

Love it

I know several of various ages from early thirties to about 8 (most children that I know are over 7) and actually all of them are very lovely girls or womeb

Yika · 24/08/2017 19:07

Love it! Much nicer than Georgina in my view.

RuthW · 24/08/2017 18:42

When dd was 5 she asked me why her name wasn't Georgia as she had 7 friends with that name. She's 20 now.

McTufty · 24/08/2017 18:19

I know several very young Georgias but no adults!

Battytwatty · 24/08/2017 17:43

I'm a Jorja! I don't think it's a "ruined " name as a PP said!

mynameisspam · 24/08/2017 17:35

I have a Georgia :) she's 5 in 2.5weeks. Not many about which is good!

Sittingonthefence83 · 24/08/2017 17:33

Yes love it!!!

early30smum · 24/08/2017 17:06

I love it! Know one aged 3.

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 24/08/2017 11:45

I love it. My friend has a Georgia (age 11) who's gorgeous, and generally called Georgie, which is fab.

WannabeChild · 24/08/2017 09:08

I like it, however I agree it is a tad dated (not massively though) - all the ones I know were born in the 1990s or early 2000s.

ilivebythesea · 24/08/2017 07:48

Love it and nn Georgie. Don't know any baby/young Georgias. I prefer it to Georgina.

Ohyesiam · 24/08/2017 07:41

Really love it. Elegant and feisty.
I know a 45 year old, and a 10 year old ( but her parents ruined it for her by for her by spelling it Jorja).

MammieBear · 24/08/2017 07:37

It's very popular in Merseyside I do like though, makes me think of the ray charles song.

HillaryWinshaw · 24/08/2017 05:17

Beautiful. I know one, around 7 years old.

Jooni · 24/08/2017 04:10

I don't know many, doesn't seem too popular round here.

It's nice enough, but I find it a bit dull and a bit dated as Sophronia said.

Sophronia · 24/08/2017 02:25

It's a bit 90s, fits with Megan, Lauren, Bethany etc. I prefer Georgina as it feels more classic.

SuperBeagle · 24/08/2017 00:54

Oh, and I know loads of Georgias but they're all the same age as me. Don't know any much younger! I was born in a town of only a couple hundred people, and in my street alone, there were two Georgias born within ten days of me. Shock I was in school with a few as well.

But that wouldn't put me off. Madeleine was also an exceedingly popular name, but it isn't anymore. Smile

SuperBeagle · 24/08/2017 00:51

Love it.

Would've loved to have used it, but there's a Tom Waits song by the same name (Georgia Oursurname), and the content and inspiration for the song are very sad.

Ropsleybunny · 24/08/2017 00:45

Love it ❤️

notangelinajolie · 24/08/2017 00:45

Forgot to say, yes I know 2 Georgia's. DD's 2 & 3 who are now 22 &16 both had schoolfriends with that name. They were both very cool and 'georgeous'.

notangelinajolie · 24/08/2017 00:36

It's lovely.

Slightly different name but I really wanted to name DD3 Georgiana (pronounced George ay nah) but it wasn't my turn so I lost.

DD3 is now 16 and suits her other name but loves Georgiana and says she is calling her first DD Georgiana Smile

DandySeaLioness · 24/08/2017 00:22

simply beautiful!

ifcatscouldtalk · 24/08/2017 00:18

Love it and I like George as a shortening. I know of a 7 year old and a 19 yr old Georgia. They are both v likeable and both make me laugh my head off regularly, so for me it's a very good vibe name.

Ceebs85 · 24/08/2017 00:14

It was in my top 3 when we named our DD. Love it and would use it if we had another girl (and if DP allowed it)
