I think I can guess which will win but...

Clemency or Marianne

Be as harsh as you like. TIA

Liney, if I could I would. Stupid, stubborn, name blocking surname that I have.

Clementina would solve your issue.

I like Marianne too, but prefer Marianna.

LineysRun · 20/08/2017 19:18

Change your surname

grasspigeons · 20/08/2017 19:13

Marianne

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 20/08/2017 19:12

😂😂😂 100% !

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 20/08/2017 19:12

10% Marianne, very pretty.

Sophronia · 20/08/2017 19:05

Marianne is lovely.

Lozmatoz · 20/08/2017 15:56

Clem - winner!

NipperNapNope · 20/08/2017 15:53

Marielle as an alternative?

Glumglowworm · 20/08/2017 15:44

Sorry marianne not Marianna

Glumglowworm · 20/08/2017 15:44

Really don't like Clemency.

So Marianna but I prefer PP suggestion of Marina

HelloFreedom · 20/08/2017 15:24

Yep, thats me. Although the rhyme is a little more subtle...but anyway. It's done. Clementine is out.

Marianne is so pretty

NipperNapNope · 20/08/2017 15:23

Marianne. Clemency is awful. Clementine is fine but clemency is really bad. What if she becomes a judge or anything to do with law really.

ScarletSienna · 20/08/2017 15:13

Are you the poster who's surname ends in 'tine' so it'd be something like Clementine Bannatine (or similar)?

As you love Clementine, I think Clemency will always irritate you as your 'almost' favourite name - so close but not it. Also the meaning of Clemency would put me off and Clemmie sounds like clammy.

I vote Marianne! It's pretty without being wishy washy.

HelloFreedom · 20/08/2017 15:09

Opinions are more mixed than i thought. I wish babies just came with a name tag attached...so much easier.

My trouble is the one name I love (Clementine) I can't have. Everything feels like second best. And i do agree that Marianne does sound a little too Dashwood girl wandering about in the rain.

Both beautiful names but Marianne is one of my favourite names so I'd go for that.

Marcipex · 20/08/2017 15:03

Clemency is lovely.
Marianne is a bit dreary, sorry.

Dina1234 · 20/08/2017 14:23

It is a tad, you could only pull it off with the he French pronouncistopn ehich may be an issue depend on where you live. Clemanthe?

1900LB · 20/08/2017 14:02

Clementina?

I'm not too fond of Marianne, it sounds a little dated to me.

squoosh · 20/08/2017 13:35

Clemency is a bit worthy.

Marianne because of the Leonard Cohen song.

purplecorkheart · 20/08/2017 13:34

Clemency makes me think of death row. Marianne is a nice name but then I have family and friends with that name.

flickertee · 20/08/2017 13:33

I was just wracking my brain to remember the actress's name but a PP put me out of my misery. Clémence! Beautiful.

Marianne is lovely also.

HelloFreedom · 20/08/2017 13:32

Clemence is nice but to my ear it sounds a little masculine.

Clementine we cant have because of a rhyming syllable within our surname.

Not keen on either. Have you considered Celmence or Clementine? I've always preferred Miriam to Marianne.
