Hello,
In the next couple of weeks my twin girls will be born. We've decided on Charlotte for one of them bit aren't getting anywhere with her sister.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I feel like I've been through every baby name list on the internet.
Thank you!

For me Charlotte goes perfectly with Elizabeth!

Think if not close to cousins and don't see them often it's fine.

My immediate thoughts were Jennifer and Harriet.

I imagine cousins would be touched and pleased if you said you were considering their name.

Glad no-one's suggested Twinnie. Wink

Chaffinch4 · 15/08/2017 18:17

Using the same name as one of your cousins is fine!

As pp said, I think Charlotte and Harriet would be lovely together.

And I would say it's fine name a child after a cousin. But then I have 19 cousins and 12 second cousins so avoiding it can be difficult!

MrsSchadenfreude · 15/08/2017 18:13

Frances. Or Emmeline

thisismadness77 · 15/08/2017 18:11

Isabelle, Alice, Kate, Grace, Rebekah, Lois, Beatrice, Florence, Emilia, or Susanna.
The cousin thing is fine, we have this in ours.

Congratulations, twins are awesome Smile

Eliza or Larissa.

Cousin of parent sharing the name wouldn't matter unless somebody would think she was named after the cousin and you would get tangled in knots protesting that she wasn't and upsetting the cousin, or upset other cousins :o

I have a Jade and also have a cousin Jade Grin

whoahokeycokey · 15/08/2017 18:02

We called our son after a cousin as loved his name. We told him before we announced it and he was thrilled. I'd be flattered if anyone called their child the same name as me but Talula Fanning just isn't so popular! So I call myself by my middle name Anne. If you love a name speak to the cousin and suggest it's an option. I bet they'd be thrilled!

Jennypug · 15/08/2017 17:58

Thanks for all your responses.

We do actually really like the name Emily bit our surname also ends with a 'lee' sound and I just don't know if it's a bit tongue twisterish.

Also, going off topic a little, what are people's thoughts on naming a child a name they would share with a parent's cousin? My husband and I have a lot of female cousins with a lot of very pretty, traditional names which we love. We don't see them often but wonder if it may be problematic for grandparents who are still going strong.
