GaryBarlowsTaxReturn · 11/08/2017 21:20

It's sweet! I like it.

Xeneth88 · 11/08/2017 21:19

Love it but then my boys have similar old names apart from one who is an Alfred.

MoonPower · 11/08/2017 21:18

Ha! Makes me think of Eric B & Rakim - 80's hip hop duo Grin

ohhelpohnoitsa · 11/08/2017 21:18

I love it too. Very cool imo.

dowhatyouwish · 11/08/2017 21:00

Personally don't like it but it's defo a classic name.

SophieofShepherdsBush · 11/08/2017 20:59

I've got one by the wayGrin
But I like it being not too popularBlushGrin

SophieofShepherdsBush · 11/08/2017 20:55

Also the children's incontinence charity?

ThursdayLastWeek · 11/08/2017 20:53

I love it - Eric would have been on my list if it weren't a family name.

Intheknickersoftime · 11/08/2017 20:48

"The putney bridge jogger"

erm....what?

Wingbing · 11/08/2017 20:37

I love it! (But then I have an Erik)

I love Norse mythology and Vikings.

TheLegendOfBeans · 11/08/2017 20:36

Trade the "c" for a "k" and you're there. Don't worry about spelling it forever...I think the "c" spelling may actually die out.

Bardo · 11/08/2017 20:34

The putney bridge jogger

RiverTam · 11/08/2017 20:33

Unless you're actually Scandinavian I think Erik is a bit achingly try-hard.

Monny1 · 11/08/2017 19:30

Not keen on the name, but its your child.

user10794etc · 11/08/2017 19:28

I like it.

@SpartacusSaiman has your dad ever said why he doesn't like it?

I do like the spelling Erik, but DP doesn't. Also feel like he's just spend his life saying 'it's Eric with a 'K''

OP posts:
harlandgoddard · 11/08/2017 19:00

I really like it

AuntieStella · 11/08/2017 18:59

I doesn't do it for me. Possibly because I think Erik is far more dashing

Sophronia · 11/08/2017 18:58

I like it!

Intheknickersoftime · 11/08/2017 18:57

I love Eric, I got vetoed on this for both my son's as my DP hated it.

PeanutButterIsEverything · 11/08/2017 18:51

I've seen it spelt Erik recently, for a baby. Makes it look quite hipster and cool/scandi.

I quite like the name

SpartacusSaiman · 11/08/2017 18:45

I love it. And would have called ds it. Its my dads name. Dad hates it though.

So its a middle name.

Pre Simon cowell as well. I havent met another one, so i dont think many people are copying simon cowell.

beaglesarethebest · 11/08/2017 18:43

Thanks @FunSizedNinja I think it's a lovely strong name, and like you said does not seem to be very popular but well known enough not to be 'weird'. I couldn't care less if Simon Cowell named his son this, not a fan of the guy and don't spend much time thinking about him lol

OP posts:
FunSizedNinja · 11/08/2017 18:21

My son is called Eric. After my late grandpa. Simon C came along 3 years later and used it. I still havent come across another eric so wouldnt say it was popular. There are nicer ways to say you dont like a name than "god no!". It is rude. OP if you love it then go for it.
