Finding it so difficult to choose a boy and girl name. Don't know the gender of the baby.

I love the name winter, for a little girl but not sure if I could double barrel it? Or what to use!

Love the name Tiger for a boy but I don't know if it's to out there!

Well it sounds like you have some lovely reasons for choosing the names, and that's really nice, so go for it! I would avoid a hyphenated name though. Winter is a strong name on its own. Separate middle name is fine.

I really like winter - Kathrine
Think winter Jasmine would be to much as it's my name!

I do really like tiger, I like it shortened to tye. I was thinking about it.

I feel that baby names are out of this world right now and if I pick something boring they will stand out when they go to school?

The names do have strong imagery associations that's why I like them. Tiger is strong, not physically but spirituality.
Winter reminds me of the cold, ice but also the warm and glowing fire, laughter from family and friends. It's my favourite season.

Both the names you've chosen have very strong attributes and imagery associated with them that your children may not live up to or like - to me they both have negative connotations. I know people will say that lots of other names do too and I don't much care for those either.

Animals/seasons/nature/qualities names that are a bit more neutral like Fox, Wren, Summer, Autumn, Joy, Willow, River, etc seem better to me, but it's personal preference of course.

I like Winter but currently it makes me think of GOT. Won't be much of a problem in a few years. Not a fan of Tiger I immediately thought of the character from benidorm.

You don't have to be born in that season. I doubt when she meets new people they'll check to see if her birthday fits.

Winter is nice. I think it's interesting and unusual enough without needing to hyphenate it with anything else. I think it would be too much if you did that.

Not keen on Tiger personally. It's a bit childish as a name. How about Tadhg or Teague? Or Wilder?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 08/08/2017 17:34

I quite like both those names.

Season names are okay, but. I think you've got to be born In that Season.
So if you have her in Winter 21 Dec on wards until 20 March. Winter would be gorgeous.

When you say double barrel it. I take it you mean a middle name.
Winter Rose.
Winter Abigail
Winter Jasmine
Winter Frances
Winter Lily
Winter Grace
Winter Belle

I quite like Tiger for a boy. Yes its out there, but I think anything goes, now.
