Rosamund or one of these?

So, after much disagreement DH and I managed to come up with 2 names we'd both consider: Clara and Freya. I like them but not sure either is right. Having last min thoughts about Rosamund, Rosa for short. Baby due in 2 weeks. Thoughts?

Rosamund is more unusual that might be why you doubt it but it's a lovely strong name with good Nn potential so for that reason that name seems right for you fraya and Clara your a bit more limited with for Nn.

Freya is very popular where I live at the moment so for that reason alone I'd, personally, not use it.
I don't mind Rosamund, but prefer Roslyn/Roslin/Rosalin :)

I prefer Clara. I really like Rosa, but Rosamund is one of the few names I'm not keen on. I think it's the how to pronounce it thing. I like Rosanna or Rosalie but Rosa stands own to me.

I really don't like Rosamund but Rosa is lovely. Freya and Clara are also nice. My order would be Freya, Rosa, Clara, Rosamund.

Rosamund and Clara were on our short list.

Clara was probably my favourite but clashes with our surname (think Clara Clearly which is great if you're a superhero, but a bit of a tongue twister otherwise).

The thing that put me off Rosamund was how to pronounce it: rose-a-mund or roz-a-mund.

We ended up with Rosemary (Rose or Rosie for short).

Rosamund is lovely. A bit unusual but also nicely traditional at the same time.
Freya is nice enough but it's very popular, there are loads of little Freyas round here.
Clara is a bit meh, also always sounds a bit austere and German to my ears.

Rosamund nn Rosa is gorgeous

I also like Clara and Freya. Freya's are everywhere here though and Clara seems to be gaining in popularity

Personally I find the jump from Rosamund to Rosa slightly tricky as it's a different sound. Roz-amund v Rose-a. Do love Rosa though.

Rosamund (and Rosa) is lovely and a lot more unusual than Clara or Freya these days. I'd go for that.

Thanks, yes Rosalie was my preferred name originally but DH vetoed it...

I think Freya is very pretty, or Rosalie rather than Rosamund; this is personal though, as I know someone with this name and it holds negative connotations!

I like Rosa as a shortening, but I'd use Rosanna personally because I think it flows better as a full name. It's worth considering how well you like the full name, as you may have a child like mine who much prefers it to the short version.

I think Freja and Clara are lovely but very very popular in my area.

I quite like Rosamund, but I'd be worried that she would be called Rose most of the time, also I think Rosalie is prettier.

Clara is my favourite and I also like Freya very much.

I love Clara. I like most of the Rose names but personally would put Rosalind, Rosanna and Rosalie ahead of Rosamund.

Rosa on its own is nice - works well internationally too.
