I am expecting no.3 and struggling with girls names. My other 2 have classic, international names (I think). They are names that have been around for many hundreds of years anyway. Any thoughts on Judith? I want timeless, easy to shorten names, not fussy or overly pretty or trendy names.

Nooo it's really bad and nowhere near a comeback. I know one Judith in her 60s and even she thinks it's old fashioned and uses a nickname.

I'm a godmother to a lovely 10yr old Judith and concur its a fab name ( like NannyR I also love Meredith but never convinced Dh...) good luck op!

I'm not a fan. It seems old but not classic.
However, that is just me. If you love it and would happily be called it yourself, then go for it.

Sorry to upset the positive reactions apple cart but I think it's the most horrible girls name imaginable.
However That's my opinion not a fact.

I love the name Judith. I also like Edith and Meredith (I like the -ith sound!)

Haven't come across a Judith since I was a child, but i think its overdue for a revival, its a lovely name :-).
