Please tell me your loveliest boy names

Just that really!

I have done something I swore I never would and convinced myself that we are having a boy, (before we've reached the stage where someone might be able to confirm that at a scan).

Anyway, we have a list of lovely girl names, but can't agree on any boy names. We both liked Matthew and Christopher for a while, but we've both gone off Matthew, (as Matt Surname sounds horrible), and I've gone off Christopher, (don't like Chris).

Some of my favourites, (vetoed by DH) are:

I do like Henry James (the name and the author), but I'm not a big enough fan of the author to name a child after him iyswim.

Have added Jonah to the list!

Have googled - yes, John! I briefly went out with a horrible John, so that's ruined the name for me sadly.

DD has a jane Austen inspired name and I love Elinor and Marianne. Willoughby isn't really to my taste though. Can't remember what his first name was... probably john or George.

I like Robin for a boy, like Christopher Robin of Winnie the Pooh fame. Can use Rob for short, or it's short enough to not be shortened at all.

Oh the second boy rabbit was called Willoughby, so throwing that one in too (from Sense and Sensibility, the girl rabbit was Marianne).

I quite like the names in your first list, but self-vetoed many as being too fancy (although the rabbit inherited my very favourite of Gabriel). Some more names that I liked (have given myself free rein now for fanciness):

Constantine (not from the film)
Lucien
Harvey
Perran (Cornish like my name)
Jago (")
Mincarlo (")
Benedict (my Mother complained this was too Catholic)
Macbeth (well you had a few Scottish ones in your list)
Mars (good strong name but suffering from chocolate comparisons possibly)
Zeus (in case Mars is too chocolatey)
Terry - just as it's the name of a lovely friend and not heard a baby called it, the old ones are meant to be coming back

I always liked Reuven, it's a variant of Reuben (I only ever think of the sandwich when I hear that one Confused) and means 'Behold, a son'.

I also think Rowan is nice or Edward. Edward is a lovely name.

We've got a Hugo and his middle name is similar and starts with a J, we get so many compliments and I love it!! Our other boys name was rafael/Raphael
