To go with George

m33r · 25/07/2017 12:05

Am 38 weeks and hoping to go any day. We are having another boy and had decided on Max but my friend had her baby last week and called him Max so it's now out for us.

Our list had:

James (calling Jamie)
Benjamin (Ben)
Charlie (though would put Charles on birth certificate which I'm not mad on but love Charlie)

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

We loved mikey but couldn't have Michael (George and Michael...)

Really struggling. DS1 was named after my late FIL so didn't have this last time.

Our last name starts with an M.

Thanks in advance!

If your George was after a Grandad, would it be inappropriate not to name DS2 after his other grandad (unless he is not in the picture)?

George and Frederick
George and Charlie (like that)
George and Louis
George and Sebastian
George and Marcus
George and Gabriel
George and Thomas
George and Domininic

I've got a George ( named after the late , great George Michael )
If I had had another , he'd have been Frederick , to be known as Freddie ( Mercury )
Go with Max , if that's the name you like best

hannah1992 · 25/07/2017 15:21

2 of my friends (who are also friends) both half girls called Olivia 2 years age apart from each other but other than confusion at play dates lol there's no hard feelings. Go with what you like

MommaGee · 25/07/2017 15:20

Given the royal George and Charlotte prepare for a lot of "oh was it after..." if you go woty Charlie. Although it does go well

We also have a George - named before the prince!

I really like the name John. If I had another boy would call him John. I think Johnny is the coolest name ever. It is not one of the typical ones around at the moment (like Lucas or Max) and he would really stand out in ten or twenty years time, plus it is just so timeless.

DigitalGhost · 25/07/2017 13:39

Go with Max if that's what you both wanted.

Popskipiekin · 25/07/2017 13:38

Pp already said Arthur - going to put a second vote in for this, I think it goes really well with George and your other choices. Mind you if you love Charlie then go with that! I would also be putting Charles on bc so he has more "adult" name for use later on if he wishes. I sympathise with not wanting to use Max any longer though it's a pity. Is she a local friend? Would your children grow up together, same class? My brother has the same name as a younger cousin (so grandparents have two DGC same name) which everyone was very ShockHmm about at the time but of course used to now. Perhaps your Max might be Maxi for a while (if you like Charlie), to differentiate.

ginjin · 25/07/2017 13:32

I really love James. I think it flows nicely with George with the first sounds being the same, without the confusion of having the same initials.

m33r · 25/07/2017 13:27

Thanks everyone. Great suggestions here. We also like Lucas but can't have George Lucas (it's a Star Wars thing!).

Went backwards and forwards on sticking with max but it just doesn't sit right with me any more. She is a brilliant friend and I'm sure would 't mind at all but just not sitting with me any more. Thank you all so much again xx
