Rupert - a name that divides opinion! So, love or hate?

Absolutely hate it.

Although I do like the Bear.

Emmeline123 · 24/07/2017 23:52

Hate it, always assume the parents are twats. SIL wanted to do it to her son also but entire family has vetoed.

Xeneth88 · 24/07/2017 23:49

Awful, sounds like the noise a wet fart makes.

WhenTheDragonsCame · 24/07/2017 23:46

Someone I used to work with named their son Rupert. It wasn't on my list when I had DC but I do like it.

MollyHuaCha · 24/07/2017 23:42

I like it.

Beeziekn33ze · 24/07/2017 21:49

First thought: Jilly Coooper's hero Rupert Campbell-Black!

ScarletForYa · 24/07/2017 21:31

Rupert is a milksop.

DurhamDurham · 24/07/2017 21:28

Awful

Mimipoo · 24/07/2017 21:21

Much prefer the English version Robert!

MrsH193 · 24/07/2017 20:05

17caterpillars1mouse · 24/07/2017 20:02

Guccibelt · 24/07/2017 18:31

MrsBungle · 24/07/2017 18:30

It's a no from me.

Love it. Think it's a gorgeous name :)

NotWeavingButDarning · 24/07/2017 18:19

Ugh. Not keen. At all.

Sophronia · 24/07/2017 18:16

I like it. I know a very non-posh Rupert.

Brakebackcyclebot · 24/07/2017 16:49

Ugh

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 24/07/2017 16:48

Awful. Sorry OP, I really dislike the name.
How about Reuben ?

NerdyBird · 24/07/2017 16:01

my brother is a Rupert. He's not overly keen on it and people did tease him a bit about the bear character but it does kind of suit him. We are not at all posh.

PsychoPumpkin · 24/07/2017 15:58

I really really love it.

Bumpitup44 · 24/07/2017 15:57

Love it!

Nospringflower · 24/07/2017 15:33

Hate! Posh and wet!

FfionFlorist · 24/07/2017 15:24

I like it but it is certainly a name to live up to and I'm not sure I'd do that to a child. Never met a Rupert who didn't live up to it though, a type of nominative determinism.
