Hi! I have a son called Milo and due another boy in November. I absolutely love the name Arlo and feel this is the name for my baby, however I am aware it's quite similar to Milo. What's your opinion?!?!? I know in my heart I would be so upset if i didnt use this name, but just want others opinions! Thanks Smile

50% of the names are exactly the same so I do think they sound too similar to use. Like them both though!

Maybe try it for a few days to see when he is born.

Celestia26 · 03/08/2017 14:08

I think you should use the name you love. Milo and Arlo are fine together, it's not a ridiculous pairing. Follow your heart.

MrsMamaG2016 · 03/08/2017 13:34

Arlo and Milo were both name options for me with my DS we went with Archie thou and now really regret not calling him Arlo because I love that so much

Lofari · 03/08/2017 01:44

I like them together I think they 'fit'.
Go for it OP. World would be a very boring place if we all liked the same things ;)

Shemozzle · 03/08/2017 01:34

Sorry, but I think they are far too similar and shouldn't be used together. You could possibly get away with Otto if you like names ending in o. My son was very nearly Milo, tried it out for a couple of days even (but settled on Rudy in the end).

AccrualIntentions · 02/08/2017 14:27

I like the names but together it sounds a bit much. I suppose it depends how often you think you'll be using the names of your children together?

TheFace · 02/08/2017 14:26

Arlo is a bit trendy and some people might see it as an out there hipster name so you were always going to get a mixed response, but FWIW I like it a lot and I don't think it sounds offensive with Milo. I actually think it sounds really cute Smile

milosmummy16 · 02/08/2017 07:27

almostmumto3 the age gap will be nearly 3 years, altho really hoping for a girl if we did have another child (in a few years at least!!!) But I do agree, those 3 names sound lovely together x

Pick the name you love. I think people are too obsessed with 'matching' names with siblings. They'll be adults before you know it and who at work ever judges your name based on your siblings'.

Chaffinch4 · 31/07/2017 21:26

I think if you like it, go for it. I don't think they sound silly, although they are similar. They will only be living together for a small part of their lives, so I don't think it would be a major issue.

MurrayMoo · 31/07/2017 20:00

Personally I think they are both lovely names and go really well together 😊 I can imagine brothers called Milo and Arlo. Love both names but hubby isn't keen 😔
Please do for it if you love them x

almostmumto3 · 31/07/2017 17:15

Hmmm a hard one. I really like both names, what's the boys age gap? I do think it's a bit of a mouthful when said together however in their lifetime they will only be being called by you together for a small fraction of the time if you know what I mean.
I think Milo and Finn sound lovely together.
All you need to do to use Arlo is have a third son, if you said Milo Finn and Arlo it's totally different :)

milosmummy16 · 25/07/2017 11:18

Thats decided then!!! The more I see the names written together I think it sounds fine, and it's making me love the name even more keep seeing it! Thanks everyone for all the posts 😁

You pick the names you want OP, sod anyone else (unless it was a really ridiculously weird name) It sounds like you love it and would regret not using it. We have an Alfie and Charlie!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 25/07/2017 10:31

No, I'd use Arlo as a middle name though in your situation, if you really love it!

Milo X and Y Arlo.

happykoala27 · 25/07/2017 09:34

Choccyhobnob Maybe that film is in the back of my head somewhere, so I put the names together!! Blush
FWIW I still like Otis, though!

KoalaDownUnder · 25/07/2017 00:51

Milo and Otis is the name of a film about a cat and a dog!

This! Don't use Milo and Otis together 😂

llangennith · 25/07/2017 00:17

Arlo is a bit too popular these days. It'll date.

Lemondrop99 · 25/07/2017 00:01

I think Milo and Arlo sound fine together. I was also about to point out that they'll spend the majority of their lives as independent adults rather than a sibling pair.

milosmummy16 · 24/07/2017 20:47

howthelightgetsin yes exactly what i was thinking! They are both individuals, and once they are older will have separate lives so I completely agree xx

OP posts:
howthelightgetsin · 24/07/2017 20:19

Otis is nice.

Milo and Arlo but a bit matchy but it doesn't matter all that much.. you sign their names together in Christmas cards and whatever while they're children but they don't spend their lives as a pair.

milosmummy16 · 24/07/2017 13:41

Seems like quite a few of you also like Otis, i have never met anyone with that name but think it could grow on me! Thanks working925 another person who likes the combination 👍 xx

working925 · 24/07/2017 13:20

Love Milo and Arlo - they sound great. Love Otis too. Jonah? Zak? Otto?

SleepFreeZone · 24/07/2017 12:58

They sound a tiny bit 'try hard' when put together. How about Milo and Jasper or Milo and Archie

milosmummy16 · 24/07/2017 12:41

happykoala my mum really likes the name Otis and has mentioned it to me, but I'm not too sure on it, think it could grow on me tho so will add to my list xx
