I love the name Graciella but not sure if people would pronounce it the same as I would. How would you pronounce it?

OP, just asking, has any of this been helpful?

grufallosfriend · 22/07/2017 07:19

Gratz -ee - ella

If you want Gracie Ella then call her Gracie Ella with or without a hyphen

lljkk · 22/07/2017 07:11

It looks like it comes from a Latin language, so usually their sounds it becomes Grassy-ella.

If you want Gracie-Ella, then you need to spell it that way, not like an Italian name.

Ceebs85 · 22/07/2017 04:05

gratz-ee-ella

Mclaren37 · 22/07/2017 03:30

Grassy ella - because I knew one and this was the way she pronounced it. (Not Grace ee ella). Sounded nice in a Spanish accent but less so in a London one.

SuperBeagle · 22/07/2017 02:15

Gracie-Ella.

But to me it sounds like a disease or impairment, like salmonella or something.

MikeUniformMike · 22/07/2017 02:00

If it's like Mariella (Mariella Frostrup says her name as Marry Ella not Marie Ella) then it's Grassy Ella.

Evamarie looks like it should sound like EVammery.

SerfTerf · 22/07/2017 01:50

We had Evamarie last week.

Is this the new fashion for the demographic who've been furiously hyphenating for ten years?

FWIW, it looks like Gra-chi - ela to me

Joeybee · 22/07/2017 01:44

Like the Italian way of pronouncing it...not sure how toshow that, but like "Gratziella"

MikeUniformMike · 21/07/2017 19:38

Grassy Ella. It's a No from me.
Gracienne is pretty but it's Grassy En. Another No.

Gracie Ella?

Lemondrop99 · 21/07/2017 18:58

Why not go with Gracie Ella? No hyphen.

I know a Gracie Lea. Always called Gracie Lea in full

cushioncovers · 21/07/2017 18:52

Gracie-Ella

GrumpyOldBag · 21/07/2017 18:51

Or like Footle said.

GrumpyOldBag · 21/07/2017 18:50

Gratt - see - ella

MercuryMadness · 21/07/2017 18:49

Gra- chella

PlymouthMaid1 · 21/07/2017 18:31

Grah see ella

ShmooBooMoo · 21/07/2017 18:28

How do you pronounce it, OP?
Tbh, it looks like one of those 'I made this up...I want to be different' names. However you pronounce it, I think it looks nicer in print than it sounds IRL. I wouldn't want to be named it...

MrsDc7 · 21/07/2017 18:25

Grach Ella

ShmooBooMoo · 21/07/2017 18:24

Like Mariella...

Grace-ee-ellah

RhubardGin · 21/07/2017 18:23

Grassy-Ella.

It's a bit of a mouthful tbh

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 21/07/2017 18:18

Agree with TWIST, Grat zee ella.

SeveredPixieBits · 21/07/2017 17:41

Grassy-ella

bridgetreilly · 21/07/2017 17:38

First name Gracie, middle name Ella. Done.

Elmo230885 · 21/07/2017 16:46

If you are having to ask this I would say its not really fair to give it as a name, as the child will spend their entire life correcting people

Grassy Ella

Sorry

ChoudeBruxelles · 21/07/2017 16:38

Grey-see-ella
