Pegasus and Philomena?

janus is nice but you need to think ahead to how an 11 year old boy will be treated at school when the vast majority of their name is made up from the word anus

Philomena is all right (although I'm sure it would get shortened to Philly, which would remind me of the soft cheese). But please, please don't call your son after a horse!

I would have had Artemis if DS had been DD. What about Janus? God of new beginnings?
DD who isn't Artemis but does have an unusual mythological name is planning on studying Classics next year. I like unusual names but not ones too out there. It's the first gift you give your children so it's important to think about the recipient first and fotemost, imho.

Philomena is awful imo but at least it's an actual name for humans

Philomena for Irish people is a woman of at least 60, a chain-smoker who goes to Mass daily, has a Sacred Heart picture in her kitchen and cardigan pockets full of balled-up tissues. It goes along with names like Concepta, Assumpta, and Attracta.

Think of the kind of 'old lady names' that definitely haven't been revived and become retro-chic, and that's pretty much Philomena, rather than Greek meaningfulness.

Philomena immediately makes me think of Philomena Cunk (hilarious but perhaps not what I'd want to associate my child with)

I don't have twins but always thought if I did I'd probably want to give them different initials. Just imagine it might make things slightly easier in the long run.

Those names are amazing. Batshit, yes, but amazing. More fun than your Noahs/Olivias anyway

For me Philomena just about falls on the acceptable side of pretentious. Pegasus isn't a human name, it's a winged horse. It'd be like calling a child unicorn or centaur.
