Family member has new baby called Rex. I'd never considered the name before and wondered what most thought. I liked Rex Harrison way back but my little grandson said'Oh like Tyrannosaurus Rex?"

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I actually really love Rex, never thought of it before but it's a great name!

RebelRogue · 12/07/2017 18:57

Where I come from most dogs are indeed called rex.

Kursk · 12/07/2017 18:55

In the US Rex is short for Regenald

My sons border collie dog is named Rex

Fearne Cotton's son is called Rex. He was born in the same year as my son I think, 2013. I've heard of a few since. I quite like it. It's a grower though, I didn't immediately like it.

It was my grandfather's name. I adored my grandfather, so I have very good associations with it.

FluffyMcCloud · 12/07/2017 18:39

I taught a kid called Rexford once. He was cool.

SarahJonesS · 12/07/2017 18:38

I like it

SealSong · 12/07/2017 18:38

No, it's not particularly a dogs name, it's more a human name, but that old 'dogs name' trope gets trundled out on here every time...

I like it OP; I have a lovely nephew by that name.

thefutureisfemale · 12/07/2017 18:36

Oh please...

PastaPosha · 12/07/2017 18:36

I liked Rex for my son but got shouted down by others. I still like it though.

Justhadmyhaircut · 12/07/2017 18:34

Isn't it a dogs name??

chowmeinchick · 12/07/2017 18:34

I didn't think of T-Rex straight away but wouldn't call my child this.
