I never hear this used anymore. Is it awful or does it deserve a comeback?

I like Tim but dislike Timothy or Timmy
Most Tims I know are in their 40s now and I have never come across one that uses his full moniker
Unfortunately the name Timothy was ruined for me by thd sitcom 'Sorry'

I met a cowboy yesterday (a real one, am in Canada) called Tim. Nothing wet about that guy.

Love it. I don't think it is 'wet' (but not sure what that really means either!) or too dated. I like other names of that ilk too such as Christopher and Andrew.

My Tim isn't drippy nor dim! He's outgoing, chatty and quirky! Only gets called Timothy when in trouble Wink, only one adult friend calls him Timmy but a couple of his age friends call him that too. Mostly he's called Tim by all. I sometime call him Timbo. He suits his name! It is a family name for us though that's not why we chose it. I'd love it to become a little more popular!

I know an 18 year old called Timothy. He acts old and I don't even know any old men with the name so it just be outdated. I would say I hate the name but would put it in the same category as Brian, Pete.

It was our cats name.
I think it sounds very strong.
A bit like Gregory. One l like too!

My dh is called Tim but he hates being called Timothy, only his mum does it sometimes Grin

I'm not sure about the full name for a little one but Timmy is quite cute. And my Tim is awesome so I'm biased.

Tim by itself is fine. It's the 'othy' that pushes it over the edge.

Of course it's old fashioned, it's a Biblical name. Can't get older than that. Maybe it's not a popular name but in this day and age of Jaxons, Rileys and Jaydens and other surname names it might be a breath of fresh air.

I know a lovely 2yo Timmy, who isn't at all drippy, but it still says 'nice but dim' to me.

I'm sorry I don't like it I'm afraid. As ClashCityRocker said - all I hear when I hear that name is Tim-EHHHH, south park ruined it for me.

A million times NO. Timothy is the drippiest name imaginable. I’ve met a fair few men called Tim in my time, not one of them has ever gone by the full Timothy. I don't blame them a bit.

I like it but there is a children's program with a lamb called Timmy which is rather irritating, besides that it's a lovely name I put it in the same category as Nicholas.

Ok my old dad is a Timothy, but I was thinking the other day I really like it for all ages and all nicknames. Timmy very cute for a baby and young boy :-)

Tims are always nice! I saw something amusing recently written by a Tim who said you'll always find a Tim "hanging around in chunky jumpers making small talk about the weather."
