Cecilia?

I've loved the name Cecilia ever since reading Atonement! I also love that she is the patron saint of music. DH thinks it's too repetitive on the 's' sound, which I suppose I can see. What do you think? I also like Cece and Celie/Celia as nicknames.
Someone just informed me that baby's due date is Saint Cecilia's day! Seems like fate? Do you like this name?

I chose it for my confirmation name. Love the name but in that one year where people would ask about what name I'd chosen/used I was driven demented by that bloody song being sung back at me every time. If it followed me around for life I may have snapped. If you're okay with that go for it, it really is lovely Smile

Probably prefer Cecily, but really like Cecilia too. Both were on my list and vetoed by DH :-)

Desperad0 · 10/07/2017 11:13

I love it but do prefer Cecile

bridgetreilly · 10/07/2017 09:55

It's okay. Personally I prefer Cecily and even Cicely.

MarilynWhirlwindRocks · 09/07/2017 23:19

Great name. So many positives, especially the musical associations.

MollyHuaCha · 09/07/2017 22:41

I have a Norwegian friend called Cecilia. Beautiful name. And I love the shortenings too.

autumngold6 · 09/07/2017 21:44

Really like Cecelia

Bearberry · 09/07/2017 21:44

I love it, top of my list if we have another DD

PeterReidFaePeterheid · 09/07/2017 21:40

Love it; I know one in real life and she is lovely.

Imstickingwiththisone · 09/07/2017 21:25

I always liked it because i like Celia / Celie. I think the full Cecelia is too much though.

RainaBaina · 09/07/2017 21:21

Love it but was put off by the possibility of my child having a lisp.....

RortyCrankle · 09/07/2017 21:18

Beautiful, perfect name.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 09/07/2017 21:16

Sorry, too frilly for me.

demirose87 · 09/07/2017 20:42

I really liked it when pregnant with DD2, just put me off that its a bit of a mouthful especially with my long surname. I also like celeste which I think is another form of the name x

MammieBear · 09/07/2017 20:35

Just the meaning of the name that puts me off (blind).

SuperBeagle · 09/07/2017 20:05

Don't like it

Seems very old and also reminds me of celiac

Pansiesandredrosesandmarigolds · 09/07/2017 19:43

Wonderful name.

friedegs · 09/07/2017 19:41

Just the most fabulous name ever! Couldn't use it myself as Cece already in family. A beautiful classic.

Orangedaisy · 09/07/2017 19:33

Sorry, hate it. Associate it with someone who is an utter loon.

Raines100 · 09/07/2017 19:32

Lovely!

IHaveBrilloHair · 09/07/2017 19:31

My Mum and Gran's name, they were both known as Celia.
For that reason it just sounds very dated to me.

Firenight · 09/07/2017 19:31

I love it. Couldn't use for ours because it doesn't work with the surname but would be top of the list otherwise.

Sophronia · 09/07/2017 19:28

Love it!

TartanDMs · 09/07/2017 19:28

I like it, and I actually like the connotations with the song, which is about the saint and muse, rather than a woman.

Jooni · 09/07/2017 19:24

I like it, but prefer Cecily. Love the shortenings too. It does sound like fate - use it!
