Where the all the Olivias?

This is the second most popular girls baby name in the country, and was at the top of the charts for years. I know and know of loads of girls called Olivia who are in their late teens now and early 20s, but I have yet to meet one of my DS's age (8) or younger. In fact, there are no Olivias at his (large) primary school at all.

So where are they? I know so many girls called Eva, Ava and Evie that I lose track of how many there are when I count them, but not one Olivia. Is it a certain area of the country they're all in or something?

My DD's nursery has 3 or 4 (Scotland), I'm just glad that I changed my mind on her name as she was supposed to be a Olivia.

There's none round here either! Not many Olivers either, can't think of any at least. They're all Henry and Ava round here.

I know a few Olivias in the 8 to 13 agegroup, but I haven't heard anyone call a baby Olivia for a few years.

I know of two through family friends but both high school age. None under 10 though, but my son is only 8 months so I won't know until he goes to school. Olivia was definitely popular in the 90's, I'm early 20's and I know at least 5 around my age

They must be all hiding in my dd s school, in key stage one alone there are about twelve( 3 of whom are in her reception class)

I only know of one and she is age 20. I wanted to call DD2 Olivia but was vetoed. I still really like it.

I know 5 under 5 and I don't know many children so that represents a massive percentage!

I only know Olivia's in their mid to late 20s, my DM doesn't have any at her preschool. But lots of Eva/Evie/Ava s in that age group. My name was the most popular girls name the year I was born and I had 7 in my year at secondary school, 4 in my form!

I am really glad someone raised that question. I don't know one Olivia in my area, in my (now grown) kids school or any of my large extended family. The only Olivia I knew was a girl I went to school with in the 70's. I don't even know of any Olivia's in the massive organisation that I work in.

It sounds like it's still a really popular name down south then. (I'm up north). it seems a very 90s-early 00s name here, like Georgia (nice name by the way - just don't know any under the age of about 18 here but there are loaf of uni age)

I agree with you and I'm in the South - I know of about 200 children under 6 and not a single Olivia

I do know a huge number of girls called Sophie, Sophia, Evie, Ava, Amelia...

I know an 8yr old Olivia and another who's 3. There are quite a few at my dd's school but there are equally as many called Evie/Ellie/Amy so it doesn't stand out as being exceptionally popular iyswim.

I'm in Norfolk too. If you leave the house you fall over an Olivia. And her friends Grace, Ella and Evie.
