Where the all the Olivias?

This is the second most popular girls baby name in the country, and was at the top of the charts for years. I know and know of loads of girls called Olivia who are in their late teens now and early 20s, but I have yet to meet one of my DS's age (8) or younger. In fact, there are no Olivias at his (large) primary school at all.

So where are they? I know so many girls called Eva, Ava and Evie that I lose track of how many there are when I count them, but not one Olivia. Is it a certain area of the country they're all in or something?

Well it's popular in the age group you mentioned .. many mothers will know many Olivia's and didn't want their child having a name that became lost in the mass. So less Olivia's

(In reality though, I have only known one other Olivia as I have grown up [I am now 28], and another very recently. But no, I don't know any children called Olivia at the moment!)

I know quite a few Olivias, almost all are under 5. One 10 year old as well. All are from bilingual or multilingual families, it's a nice easy name for most languages I guess.

There are 3 Olivias in my 8 year old daughter's class (and 2 Olivers).

My DD1 is an Olivia. We go to a few groups and have met one other.

I'm South East.

DD2 is Florence and I didn't think that was very popular but have since met another at a group and have recently become friends with a neighbor whose DD is a Florence.

I know of 2 born in March this year, one born last year, and then an 18 year old. (South Coast)

Dd's name was in the top 5 names for the year she was born. We know no one with her name her age
In secondary school there was one girl who was a couple of years older than her and when she left dd was the only one with her name.

I think sometimes these survey names are just plucked out of thin air

I'm in Scotland and know of heaps in the 7-12 age group. There's at least one in every class. Haven't met a baby Olivia in a while tho.

I don't any. I live in London. DH really wanted to use it for DD but we didn't because thought it was very very popular. Now we don't know a single one!! Perhaps that will change when she starts reception.

I'm in Norfolk too. If you leave the house you fall over an Olivia. And her friends Grace, Ella and Evie.

I know an 8yr old Olivia and another who's 3. There are quite a few at my dd's school but there are equally as many called Evie/Ellie/Amy so it doesn't stand out as being exceptionally popular iyswim.

I agree with you and I'm in the South - I know of about 200 children under 6 and not a single Olivia

I do know a huge number of girls called Sophie, Sophia, Evie, Ava, Amelia...

It sounds like it's still a really popular name down south then. (I'm up north). it seems a very 90s-early 00s name here, like Georgia (nice name by the way - just don't know any under the age of about 18 here but there are loaf of uni age)
