1st baby boy due in the next few weeks. We have been set on Felix for the whole pregnancy, but now thinking about Alexander instead.

Middle name would be "George". Please let me know your thoughts!

a) Felix George
b) Alexander George

Felix Alexander George F-name

bridgetreilly · 04/07/2017 19:49

Felix! Because who doesn't want a happy boy?

auntym · 04/07/2017 18:14

I have a Felix Alexander so of course I'm biased, best name ever!

SuburbanRhonda · 04/07/2017 18:02

Our reservation about naming him Alexander is that ultimately everyone will just end up calling him "Alex".

But if he likes that nickname, it doesn't really matter what you think, surely?

sodabreadjam · 04/07/2017 17:59

Alexander. It is popular but there are a great many options for nicknames if there are two in his class or his extended family: Alex, Alec, Zander, Xander, Sandy, Al, Eck and Lex.

In Scotland it is a classic name - never out of fashion.

I'm not fond of Felix.

witsender · 04/07/2017 17:45

Alexander. Only know 1 in real life.

MammieBear · 04/07/2017 16:13

Stick with Felix! cat connotations don't really exist anymore as schools have children with all sorts of names, the reason it was associated with cat's is because St. Felix could apparently communicate with animals. Felix is a dapper name for a little boy. Wink

TheSeaTheSkyTheSeaTheSkyyyyyy · 04/07/2017 15:40

Felix because like you, I'm not a fan of the ever-so-inevitable Alex.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 04/07/2017 15:40

Felix. Great name - I have one!

MiniMaxi · 04/07/2017 15:31

I reckon go Felix

Alexander is lovely too but if you aren't keen on Alex or Xander then maybe not ideal

HeyRoly · 04/07/2017 15:29

I know so many Alexanders I've lost count, so if that kind of thing bothers you, Felix is far more uncommon.

MyBootsAreMuddy · 04/07/2017 15:24

Alexander, l like the nn Xander.

sparechange · 04/07/2017 15:19

Sophronia · 04/07/2017 14:23

ElusiveDuck · 04/07/2017 13:49

*potion, not option!

ElusiveDuck · 04/07/2017 13:49

Felix. Happy name that I associate with Felix Felicis option from Harry Potter - basically the good luck potion.

ShmooBooMoo · 04/07/2017 13:41

I don't think FAF would be an issue.

Lemondrop99 · 04/07/2017 13:38

I really like Felix. It's more unusual so not everyone will like it, but I'd pick Felix

SoftBlocks · 04/07/2017 12:44

Both nice, Felix the nicer one though IMO.

midsomermurderess · 04/07/2017 12:42

Alexander.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 04/07/2017 12:40

Alexander.

earth2020 · 04/07/2017 12:04

We considered Felix Alexander, however, our surname begins with "F" and so it would spell out FAF. Not sure if this is an issue?!
