Thing being, there is no point in asking anonymously on the internet, if you don't want people to be honest.
If you want people to all say nice things, then ask someone close to you who will try hard not to upset your feelings. If you really want to know what "the public at large" are actually thinking, then ask on an anon internet forum.

I'm with the majority. Don't like either.

I dislike both but of the two I would pick forest.

I always try to think of what my thoughts would be if I saw a name on a CV when I was recruiting someone and I would think both of those are a bit odd.

Of the two, I prefer Forest. Falcon seems a bit too try-hard, like it's trying to sound like a superhero.
I'd still be a bit WTF about Forest, I'm afraid, but it's better than Falcon.

My other son is named Blue, so I am not alien to the idea of people not liking the names we pick!

They are used as names but I wouldn't really consider them "names" as such. A falcon is a bird of prey and a forest is a large collection of trees.

If you choose a name as out there as Falcon or Forest you'll have to accept that many people won't like it. Name your baby what you want but be realistic that it's one people might raise their eyebrows at.

Forest? Like where there are lots of trees? It's a surname.
Falcon? It's a bird.
