Baby boy names too out there?

I'm almost due with my first boy and finding names very hard! DH and I like a few, but I'm wondering if they are just too out there? Our top 3:

Magnus
Franklin
Crosby

Also on our list are some "safer" names which would probably go better with our quite common traditional English girls name for our dd:

Leo
Jesse
Dylan
Finn

Stuck! It was so easy the first time round!

All of them are fine except Crosby that's a surname!

Love Magnus.
Like Finn

None of them seem out there at all to me. Crosby I really don't like and also it reminded me of Cosby as in Bill.

Jesse and Leo are both at the top of our list. Love them both as does OH.
I really like Finn.
My best friend just called her baby boy Dylan. Quite nice.
Magnus and Crosby are not to my taste at all.
I like Franklin and Frankie but not Frank.

I love Magnus and Leo. We know about 5 Finns under a year old though so that's very fashionable.

Love your more out-there names. Crosby is more Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young than Bill Cosby to me.

My 18m old is Magnus and he is big and strong for his age with blond hair and bright blue eyes. Suits him perfectly Grin

At a push you could have Fin (or Flin) as a nickname/shorter version of Franklin and have two for the price of one.

I have a Franklin! He's 4 now and we've never met another one. I like that he has options (as others have said, he gets called Frank or frankie, but usually is just Franklin) and I like that it's an unusual name but follows a similar style to some of the more popular names - so it doesn't sound weird among all the Austin, Harrison type names, and all the Freddie, Alfie type names. People recognise it as a name, but it's still more unusual, if you see what I mean.

I'm due ds2 in October and we've decided on Dylan for him, so obviously I'd vote for that.

He's a Cosby though. But I agree that Crosby is the worst on your list.

Not Crosby! Especially not with sex pest Bill in the news. People will think it's some form of tribute!

What ever you choose will simply become his name.

I like Magnus. Franklin is ok. Crosby is awful

Leo is nice. I know a 3 year old Leo
Like Jesse. I know a 1 year old
I like Dillon - this spelling though. Youngest I know is 10
Finn is nice but I don't like any full names for it other than maybe Phineas

I think just avoid Crosby

Crosby is a beach area near Liverpool.
It's nice enough as a name.
Magnus is ok, but it reminds me of cider!
I quite like Marcus. Quite unusual and similar to Magnus?
Franklin would get shortened to Frank or frankie. Sounds American, which is fine if you want an American name. I think it's a name that would last in to adulthood.

Leo is popular around here.
At least one per school class.
Leon, Liam and len are not as popular

Jesse I like. We seem to have passed the stage of hundreds of little Jessicas being shortened to jess.
Dylan is a solid, traditional name (north wales)
Dylan Thomas.
Bob Dylan.
I like Finn. Know one. Lovely lad.
Know a few Finley /finlays too.
And there are 2 Finns starting in dds reception class next term.

From your list, I would pick Franklin or Finn.

I love Magnus from your first list, and I like all of them in your 'safer' list.

I'm not keen on Franklin and I don't like Crosby at all.
