Girls' names that go with Stanley

Looking for a girl's name that goes with Stanley; neither too feminine nor too trendy if possible, but a touch edgy, still womanly, maybe suffragette inspired... Am I asking too much??

Also surname begins with S so looking to avoid another S.S. set of initials really.

Enid ?

Before opening the thread I thought Harriet, and it had been suggested already. It's strong yet not frilly.

EpoxyResin · 30/06/2017 19:10

Ooh, some of these are fab! I love Nina but I think dp might disagree... I found this just now and a lot of the names have already been suggested, but the ones that jump out at me are Christa, Dorothy, Harriet and maybe Nancy... or perhaps Nancy's a bit cabaret. I do like Alva more than Ava I think but they both sound quite contemporary don't they? Still brooding on Maggie. Thanks so much for all the input!

I know a 9yo Maggie who absolutely rocks her name and nobody thinks "Simpson" or "Thatcher" when they see her.

DS is Stanley, but our surname also begins with S!

...what about Maggie? Too "old lady"? I mean it works for Maggie Gyllenhall....

NataliaOsipova · 30/06/2017 11:17

Is your surname Stanley? Or is that your son's name? I'm confused now!
