Lily or Daisy

Help please.

I'm sort of swaying towards Daisy as there seems to be too many Lily-Mae's etc.

I don't know tho. Opinions please.

Lilly-may gracie, Olivia ect have all been done to death. Daisy very twee and lovely for a young lady but not to grow into

And Lily is short for Elizabeth, but that doesn't mean it can't be used as a name in its own right. Most people don't know that Lily is short for Elizabeth, just like most people don't realise Daisy is short for Margaret. That sort of naming tradition died out decades ago.

Daisy is short for Margaret, so I wouldn't use that as a name on its own.
Marguerite is French for daisy - that's the link. Daisy stands for "day's eye", as the flower looks like the sun. I like Margaret.

I work at a girls primary school.....there are no Lilys at the moment and 3 Daisys

I prefer Lily

I work with children and have known hundreds over the years
Every year there is at least one Daisy, sometimes 2
I've only ever known one Lily, so I guess it depends where on the country you are

Over 1/4 of the girls in my son's school year (secondary) are called Lily if that helps.

I have a sister called Lily and a dog called Daisy

So to me, Daisy is a dog name sorry any parents of human Daisy's

I think Lily is just lovely but sadly it has now been overused. Don't let that put you off if you love it. Other less used flower names - Hebe, Violet, Iris, Flora, Fleur, (Hyacinth, Petunia, Myrtle 😉)

They're both dull and overused, there's so many more nicer flower names if that's what you like.
I much prefer Lily though of the two.

I'd go for Daisy, I know several adult Daisy's and I don't think it's a silly name on an adult at all. Not like Teddy or indeed lily-mae Envy

Marguerite is Daisy in French, hence Daisy being a shortening for Margaret.

Lily is incredibly popular, and likely to date, sadly. I like Violet but we decided against it on similar grounds.

Lily. I can't cope with grown up Daisies. A doctor introduced herself to me recently as Daisy and I had to stifle an internal snigger.
