Not a fan of Samina, Thomasina, Thorne, Coral, Heidi, Elaine, Mary or Jasmine.

My neighbours dog is called Mabel as is the receptionist at our doctors 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

I like Pippa, Orlaith, Caracas Anneilise.

Adelaide is my favourite.

rainbowpie · 24/06/2017 15:30

Ooh Mary! Mary needs a comeback.

ceceliajames · 24/06/2017 15:32

I like Adelaide, Heidi, Orlaith and Mabel!

kimlo · 24/06/2017 15:36

how do you say Eliane? Is it ellie-anne?

it looks like a typo for Elaine so I think she would get called that alot.

daisypond · 24/06/2017 16:00

Thomasina and Mary are my favourites. I'm not keen on Mabel, Cara, Samia (where does the stress go in that?) or Thorne. I've never heard of Orlaith or Eliane. Phillipa/Philippa is nice. Others are OK.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 24/06/2017 16:40

I like ;
Annaliese
Jasmine
Heidi

squoosh · 24/06/2017 16:52

Tamsin is really lovely! And is a perfectly fine name in its own right, not as a nn of the (imo ugly sounding) Thomasina.

I wouldn't go for Orlaith unless you're in Ireland. It will just cause spelling headaches and Orla is a perfectly legitimate spelling and becoming well known in the UK.

Mabel is best left in the past although I know it has its fans.

Coral is nice.

Pippa has too many dodgy meanings in other languages so for me that would be a definite 'no'.

Muumi3 · 24/06/2017 17:21

Favourite is Anneliese. I like Coral in an interesting middle name sort of way

Muumi3 · 24/06/2017 17:22

Actually Coral sounds like Carl with an accent, so I don't like it

BadToTheBone · 24/06/2017 18:26

Go with amee1992x's suggestion of Caracas, lol

Amee1992x · 24/06/2017 18:35

Omg I'm so sorry that was meant to say Cara. I'm an idiot, no offence 🙈🙈

Chloris33 · 24/06/2017 20:06

Love Thomasina or Thomasin. Met a v cool Thomasin who totally pulled it off & didn't have a nn. Not sure I'd be brace enough to give that name, though. Not that keen on Tamsin.

OpalIridescence · 24/06/2017 20:08

Far and away, Thomasina nn Tamsin.
Otherwise Coral or Pippa

queenofthedump · 24/06/2017 20:18

Samia nn Sami - Don't like
Phillipa but know as Pippa - I like Pippa but not Phillipa (and isn't the usual spelling Philippa?)
Cara - Meh
Adelaide - OK
Thomason nn Damson - Not sure
Thorne - No
Coral - LOVE
Heidi - LOVE
Anneliese nnAnnie - Love Annie but not Anneliese
Orlaith - Not sure how to pronounce it
Eliane not known as Elly - I also misread this as Elaine
Mabel - A bit too old-lady
Mary - LOVE
Jasmine - Too popular for me

bridgetreilly · 24/06/2017 20:24

Damson would be a gorgeous name.

Philippa not Phillipa.

CuntyKitchen · 24/06/2017 20:31

Samia nn Sami: fine
Phillipa but know as Pippa: don't like it at all, buck toothed horsey girl
Cara: nice
Adelaide: Guys & Dolls, blousy
Thomasina nn Tamsin: Thomasina v ugly, Tamsin is fabulous! Choose that!
Thorne: are you quite mad?
Coral: like it, but prefer Cora and bloody love Coralie
Heidi: I'd worry about a DD called this being very hefty and it all going a bit Bavarian shotputter
Anneliese nnAnnie: OK
Orlaith: ugly sound whichever way you spell it
Eliane not known as Elly: too many Ellies in the world already
Mabel: not into vintage/granny chic names
Mary: too doughty (see also Bridget and Martha)
Jasmine: pretty but Tamsin is much much cooler

BakedBeeeen · 24/06/2017 20:41

Thorne Hmm
Please tell me that's a typo?!

MommaGee · 24/06/2017 20:46

Samia nn Sami - nah, just a bit ugh
Phillipa but know as Pippa - like the nn over the full nane
Cara - cute
Adelaide - love
Thomason nn Tamsin - Tamsin nn Tammie I like but I hate boys names with a gaff bit added to pretend its a girl name
Thorne - actually really like
Coral - meh, old lady
Heidi - hhmmm but sure
Anneliese nnAsir - like
Orlaith - lifetime of pronunciation issues? Otherwise nice
Eliane not known as Elly - as above
Mabel - bleurgh. Old lady
Mary- bleurgh. So boring
Jasmine - I like

CocoaLeaves · 24/06/2017 20:49

Cara is my favourite

BewareOfTheToddler · 24/06/2017 20:58

Definitely Damson Grin.

Out of your names, I love Cara, Eliane (as long as that's the name and it's not an autocorrect of Elaine) and Mabel, and also really like Tamsin, Adelaide and Jasmine. Less keen on the others personally (though have a soft spot for Pippa).

BewareOfTheToddler · 24/06/2017 20:59

Actually, Samia is great!

sidonie1 · 25/06/2017 15:07

My favourites are:
Coral
Orlaith
Mabel

I don't think of Mabel as an 'old lady' - it's a beautiful, gentle name.

OwlsinTowls · 25/06/2017 21:36

Love Adelaide, Cara, Coral, and Orlaith.

GraceGrape · 25/06/2017 21:38

I like Tamsin, not Thomasina. Also, Heidi and Jasmine and I love Mary.
