There was a Sadie at DD's school and whenever I saw her I couldn't help singing the Beatles song 'Sexy Sadie'.

I know a Sadie (70)and she hates it!! I love it. Gabrielle will get Gabby if you like that? Rosa sounds like half a name.

MikeUniformMike · 23/06/2017 19:03

Rosalie. Don't like Sadie and Gabrielle is dated IMO.

highlystrung · 23/06/2017 18:59

Sadie is so cute and old fashioned it is very sweet! Love it! ❤️❤️❤️

golfmonkey · 23/06/2017 10:04

All 3 lovely, reckon it depends which flows best with your surname, initials, and what she looks like when she comes out! Nickname wise I don't like Gabby but reckon Elle is lovely and all the possible nicknames for rosalie and Sadie are pretty nice, so for that reason I'd go with one of those two. But she will have a gorgeous name no matter which you choose!

Rosalie is lovely. Also really like Sadie, but I feel it's less of a complete name, IYSWIM, didn't Sadie originate as a nickname for Sarah?

Gabrielle is pretty, but I sort of feel it's been done now, needs a rest.

gillybeanz · 22/06/2017 01:43

Sadie and Rosalie are beautiful traditional Romany Gypsy names, I've a few over the centuries in my family Grin, sadie being more modern.
Just seen a couple as working on that part o my tree.

Mrsknackered · 22/06/2017 01:32

Sadie, I love it. Always surprises me that I don't know more of them.

WellThatSucks · 22/06/2017 01:13

Another vote for Rosalie with a close second for Gabrielle.

Sadie is irrevocably associated with the Beatles' song Sexy Sadie to me and people will make that connection and some won't hesitate to inappropriately apply it even to an infant or small girl.

ladybird69 · 22/06/2017 01:11

Sadie. timeless

MandateMandy · 22/06/2017 01:06

Sadie.

NotUser123 · 22/06/2017 01:05

Another vote for Rosalie here.

winterspirit · 22/06/2017 00:59

The Sadie the cleaning lady and the sadism connections made me laugh. Never heard of Sadie the cleaning lady and neither has anybody I know, so I doubt that connection would ever be made. I do live in the UK though.

I'm glad to hear most people like all 3 of my names. Thank you to everyone who voted. Any more votes would be appreciated.

Rosalie!

UsernameInvalid66 · 21/06/2017 21:36

Rosalie and Gabrielle are both lovely bu I think I slightly prefer Rosalie. I don't like Sadie much - it always makes me think of sadism!

HildaOg · 21/06/2017 10:51

I love all three, Sadie is my favourite.

Friolero · 21/06/2017 10:49

MollyHuaCha · 21/06/2017 10:29

Rosalie or Gabrielle

Sophronia · 21/06/2017 09:26

Not a huge fan of any of them. I like just Rosa though.

TheWeeWitch · 21/06/2017 08:57

Hmmm... I'd avoid "Sadie the Cleaning Lady" at all costs.
