How on earth do I name this baby girl!?

I am so stressed right now Sad she's 5 weeks and 2 days. We can't agree on anything. He says he doesn't like any name apart from Lily 🙄 Lily is okay but definitely not a name that I see her being. I really love April but he says that as she was born so close to April it would just be stupid and that her nickname would become 'Ape/Apes' Confused

She doesn't even look like either name tbh so I don't really know what to do. He likes Kiera and I think it's okay if spelt Ciara but still not 100% and he doesn't like it spelt like that as he thinks people will spell and pronounce it wrong.

So lost right now.

We both quite like Mollie (he hates the y spelling 🙄) but will she be Mols (sounds like moles???)

What a beautiful baby! We always say babies are gorgeous, cause they all are, but she is really beautiful. I thought Lily as soon as I saw the picture, but ,unusually, any of the names you suggested would be fine.

And you're not alone- we were still negotiating until the morning of the 6 week , very last day registration appointment. It'll all come clear.

I've never heard of April being shortened to Ape. My MN name is Molly and I've never had it shortened to Mol or Molls...

All of the names you suggest are lovely. Let us know what you decide.

I know Alice isn't remotely like anything you've suggested.

She's stunning. I like Ciara and April but when I saw the picture I thought 'Mollie, definitely'. I currently have one in my class and she's an absolute delight.

Any name you choose has the potential for shortening/lengthening/ nicknames but you don't have to use them! If you only call her Mollie and if needs be remind friends and family that that's her name and you won't be using any shortened forms, there's no reason she'll automatically get "molls" (and it doesn't sound like moles anyway). She'll probably end up with a nickname you never even thought of. My family are name lengtheners for some reason, my siblings and I all call us by names with something added to them, and the tradition has continued down to younger generation - not by design exactly but it just seems to happen.
