How on earth do I name this baby girl!?

I am so stressed right now Sad she's 5 weeks and 2 days. We can't agree on anything. He says he doesn't like any name apart from Lily 🙄 Lily is okay but definitely not a name that I see her being. I really love April but he says that as she was born so close to April it would just be stupid and that her nickname would become 'Ape/Apes' Confused

She doesn't even look like either name tbh so I don't really know what to do. He likes Kiera and I think it's okay if spelt Ciara but still not 100% and he doesn't like it spelt like that as he thinks people will spell and pronounce it wrong.

So lost right now.

We both quite like Mollie (he hates the y spelling 🙄) but will she be Mols (sounds like moles???)

Help!!

What about Paloma or Ines? She does have a Mediterranean look.

Rednailsandnaeknickers · 21/06/2017 12:08

She's stunning. I think an Italian dramatic sounding name would suit her beauty and colouring so I love the suggestions of Francesca, Florence, Ciara (yes it's Italian as well as Irish, and is pronounced key ah ra!) and Sienna (the town is Siena with one N but you know what I mean).

Like a PP i also picture Molly/mollie as blond for some reason, not sure why! Maybe a character from childhood that I've forgotten the origin but the imagery sticks.

Lemondrop99 · 21/06/2017 11:21

I like the suggestion of Lila. Very apt.

Molly is sweet and would suit her. The Molly I know gets Molly-Moo rather than Molls.

April is lovely too and I don't think the shortening to Apes is inevitable.

Iris?

She actually does look like a Mollie to me! She is beautiful. I know two Mollies and both beautiful and friendly girls.

I also liked the suggestions of Clara or Cara. Congrats!!

MotherofA · 21/06/2017 11:13

She does not look like a Linda or a Janet.

JingsAndCrivens · 21/06/2017 11:02

She looks like a Molly/Mollie to me too!

Being an April I've been called Apes plenty of times. Can't say it's bothered me. Just get used to the question was she born in april and when you say no you'll get well whys she not called whatever month. Almost 30 and I still get the same reaction

Backhometothenorth · 21/06/2017 09:46

She's beautiful OP

Looks like a Lillian or a Florence to me

Definitely a Mollie! Every Molly/Mollie I've known has been called Mollie-Moo as a nickname at some point in their lives so be prepared for that 😀

zippey · 21/06/2017 08:04

Have you thought about a traditional name like Linda or Janet? Cora is nice too.

silkpyjamasallday · 21/06/2017 08:01

I think she looks like a Mollie. The sweetest girl I ever met was called Mollie and you don't hear it very often. Ooh she's so so gorgeous, give her a little nibble from me OP! Congratulations on your beautiful baby!

Samoyedydog · 21/06/2017 07:52

Looks like an April to me 😀

Funnyfarmer · 21/06/2017 07:48

Or clara? Instead of ciara

neighbourhoodwitch · 21/06/2017 07:45

Love her. Lana.

blahthisistoohard · 21/06/2017 07:41

As an alternative to Lilly, how about Lila? It means dark haired beauty and that is most definitely your gorgeous baby!

Another name that sprung to mind when I saw the photo- Ivy.

April I think suits her but again not sure about being an April born in May. Mollie I love but for some reason picture a blonde haired Mollie!

I don't think she suits Kiera/Ciara at all.

Uhtred · 21/06/2017 07:32

She's gorgeous!

When you say 'April' it kind of has a 'lil' at the end so you could push for a Lil or Lils nickname rather than Apes. Although you might find she doesn't have any nickname until much older anyway. My dd has a long name that could easily be made into several nicknames but no one has ever called her anything other than her name (I like the nicknames so I wouldn't mind) whereas my other dd we have specifically shortened it to the nickname we want rather than another not as nice one.
We know a Molly and she does get called Molls but it doesn't sound back and suits her!
I think your dd looks like a Mollie personally!
What about Myla?

barrygetamoveonplease · 21/06/2017 07:30

Cora is good.

Persis. That baby is Persis. 'One who takes by storm'.

We have a Keira and I can't tell you what a pain in the arse it is getting people to spell it right! (I wanted a Ciara too!)

Izzy24 · 21/06/2017 07:11

What a very beautiful baby!

Good luck with naming her!
