I personally wouldn't.

If I really wanted an Ed name, I'd probably go with Edwin.

There's Edmund too. I don't like it myself, but just putting ideas out there.

It sounds like a character from a steampunk story to me, and I'd assume you were really hoping he'd grow up to be an inventor or engineer.

We have a 'son' name as well and have ruled all those names out, so no.
