I went to university with an Argentinian boy called Angel. Lovely on him! But I don’t like it for girls, personally.

Mumma4262 · 02/05/2020 05:54

A very close family member has this name. I don’t like it at all. The way she is called her name across the park 🤦🏼‍♀️

babynamelover · 02/05/2020 02:01

A friend from high school has an Angel-Jade. I've never understood the appeal of Angel. I don't really like it for a first name. You could use it as a middle 😉.

Rubywhox · 01/05/2020 23:06

I really love it! I’d probably use it as a NN for Angeline. I normally hate nicknames which speaks volumes how much I like Angel!

87Callista · 01/05/2020 22:54

I know an Angel and her sister has an equally unusually princessy name. I don't mind it, but I do feel like it's ott and yeah..no

Wasn't she from Home & Away?

No, just no

Bestseller2017 · 17/06/2017 06:38

Angelina
Evangeline

mrsBeverleygoldberg · 17/06/2017 06:22

Ariel is a lifetime of teasing that you were named after a washing powder. Angel isn't better at all.

Heratnumber7 · 17/06/2017 05:45

Actual angels, as in biblical ones, are male. Hence Angela for a girl. So no.
Anyway, it would end up as the awful nickname Ange.

shockofthepops · 17/06/2017 04:26

Reminds me of home and away, Shane and Angel

Sunnyside90 · 17/06/2017 04:19

It's not a serious name, I'd fear the teenage grilling with a name that's popular for night workers. Spare your daughter the ridicule, kids these days are ruthless. Blush

Annonymiss123 · 15/06/2017 22:58

Unless your surname is delight, no

Grin Grin

Sorry OP - I'm in the "No" camp too.

troodiedoo · 15/06/2017 22:50

whatthehell33 knew a little Gabriel once he was a right shit.

whatthehell33 · 15/06/2017 22:27

I don't mind it actually, except that I know one Angel and she really isn't!!

Mrsknackered · 15/06/2017 22:22

Just seen your update, what about an angel inspired name?

Gabrielle
Raphaella
Michaela

Or names you may like:

Evangeline (Evie)
Seraphina

Let me know if I'm barking up the wrong tree!

FeedMyFaceWithBattenberg · 15/06/2017 22:20

Terrible!

troodiedoo · 15/06/2017 22:20

Unless your surname is delight, no.

harderandharder2breathe · 15/06/2017 22:19

Don't do it

Chloris33 · 15/06/2017 22:18

Thomas Hardy's (male) character from Tess is my association too. Love it for a boy, though wouldn't be brave enough - would be worried he'd get teased for it. For a girl I prefer Angelica or Angelina.

Mrsknackered · 15/06/2017 22:17

I like it for a boy. Angelo is also one of my all time favourite names.

Please don't call a girl it. You may as well call her Missy Princess.
