I'm in hospital having been induced and seem to have ruled out all our possible boys names. I mentioned Jasper yesterday as a new suggestion which DH instantly liked.
1 syllable surname, brother is Jonny

I think it's a great name.

Congratulations & what a lovely name.

Oddlookingeyes · 18/06/2017 18:35

Oh....posted too soon. Congratulations, Claudia a gorgeous name :)

Oddlookingeyes · 18/06/2017 18:35

Like it....but wary of matching initials for brothers, makes the post a nightmare !!!

CaipirinhasAllRound · 18/06/2017 18:22

Had a little girl on Wednesday so no need for Jasper! She's called Claudia x

PS don't worry about the pet thing either. All of our pets have had 'human' names (never a Tibbles or a Sooty in our family), so I don't see the distinction. A lovely name is a lovely name.

MiriAmmerman · 17/06/2017 10:11

I love it OP - in fact, I'm thinking of nicking it for my list of hypothetical future DSs Wink

I think it goes well with Jonny (which I also love but could never use because of dodgy estranged relative. You have great taste). Don't worry about the same initial - my sibling and I share an initial, and it has never caused a problem in 32 years and no one has ever commented.

If you and DP like it, go for it.

midsomermurderess · 15/06/2017 20:32

I rather like it. I think of the stone or crystal.

LeviOsaNotLeviosAR · 14/06/2017 16:40

I have a cat called Jasper. The little boy who had him before me named him and DP and I loved the name so much we kept it.
I'm a little disappointed that if we have a DS in the future I can't use the name. Sad

Mrsknackered · 14/06/2017 16:34

I love it. We have a baby Jasper in our family.
I have seen a few negative comments about it though and my mum thinks it's very pretentious!

I luffs it.

UsaNayme · 14/06/2017 00:59

First thought is Jasper from Twilight for some reason. I suppose it's the only time I've heard it.

Both Twilight and Jasper Carrot aren't lasting references

It's nice, and I think it's on the rise right now

chocolateshortcake · 14/06/2017 00:53

I have a Jasper. I love the name. He's super cool. We have only ever had positive comments about his name (not that I care what anyone else thinks but there you go)

DijonVu · 13/06/2017 19:41

I loved it so much I named my cat Jasper! But then again there are loads of animals called human names, so if you like it use it Smile

ilovepixie · 13/06/2017 19:35

I like it. And jasper and Jonny go well together.

Justkeepleft · 13/06/2017 19:33

Love it. Mine is 9. I first heard the name as the dutch pronunciation (j= our y) and fell in love with it so we use that. It is one of the reasons I married my dutch DH😉

sexcauldron · 13/06/2017 19:29

Jasper is the beardy old man off the Simpsons....sorry but I can't hear the name without thinking of him

Farfromtheusual · 13/06/2017 19:29

Love it! Would probably use it if it didn't rhyme with DPs surname Grin

Ecclesiastes · 13/06/2017 19:25

Superb name. One of the coolest.

scrivette · 13/06/2017 19:23

It's a great name.

GreenTulips · 13/06/2017 19:22

Yes that's right! He was a nice ghost!!

disneykid · 13/06/2017 19:16

@GreenTulips I think that's Caspar - which is just as bad 😂

GreenTulips · 13/06/2017 19:09

Isn't Jasper a ghost?
