Which of these girl's names do you like most/least

DH likes Charlotte, but is the association with the little Princess too strong?

Ps Charlotte is a popular name so I don't associate it particularly with the Princess. I know loads of them.

Least favourite are Beatrice (makes me think of beetroot) and Eulalie.

Fleur - don't really like, someone said it sounds like 'Bleurgh' and thats all I can think about now

Anouk - #4, Unusual, sounds European and has a cool vibe but ultimately not the nicest sound. Similar vibe to Inez in my opinion, but less nice than Inez
Mirabel - don't like, too frilly and a bit naff
Charlotte - don't like, a bit boring
Selena - #3, beautiful sounding but forever connected to Selena Gomez in my mind
Felicity - #3 like the meaning, like the nicknames Cici and Flo, but sounds a little horsey and don't like nicknames Flick or Fliss
Beatrice - joint #1 favourite
Eulalie - don't like, feels like a sound not a name, maybe the name of an instrument. Difficult to say.

I like Mirabel, Selena, Charlotte and Rose, probably in that order, although would only use Rose as a middle name.

I don't like any of the others at all.

Thanks for all the responses. Just to throw another one in there, what do you think of Camille? It was my Dad's middle name (it's a unisex French name) & he passed away this year so would be nice to use it. Maybe just as middle name, though? Not sure how well it'd work as first name in U.K.

Not a fan of the name Beatrice. It's quite marmite (even on this thread) as it seems to be either one of a posters favourite or least favourite name.

I like Selena and Rose most and Beatrice and Eulalie the least.

Margot, Charlotte and Beatrice for sure - all lovely names. Charlotte's too popular now, and Beatrice is becoming a bit trendy, so I'd probably pick Margot.

Most (in order):

  1. Lillian
  2. Rose
  3. Charlotte
  4. Clara

Least (in order - ending in most disliked):

  1. Mirabel - too close to miserable, and too frilly, but I don't like "bel" names in general
  2. Anouk - a nook and cranny
  3. Selena - Gomez
  4. Fleur - sounds phlegmy in any accent that isn't French
  5. Margot - maggot, and even once I get passed that, I don't like it. I have an aunt named Margot and she's frumpy and awful; chainsmokes, wears clogs and hasn't had a new hairstyle since the 80s.
  6. Eulalie - ukelele.

No, Charlotte isn't too princessy. It's a common enough name to not have any strong association.
