So tomorrow we have an appointment to register our 3 month old. Yep, we are late. We decided on Ann/e as a middle name for our daughter as its the middle name of both our mothers and we thought it was a nice idea. So we told everyone. Then found they spell it differently. Neither of us will agree to the in-laws spelling. So now we are looking for names that include or suggest Ann/e but not the name itself. Any ideas? Thanks.

Lovely choice!

noisewithdirton · 09/06/2017 18:25

For what it is worth my middle name is Ann/e - I spent my whole life spelling it Ann as that is what I was told by my mum - including my big brother buying my provisional driving licence for my 17th birthday with that spelling to find out later that it is spelled with an 'e' on my birth certificate Hmm I like your name choice and congrats on your new baby

Anna or Annie

Great choice Butterpff

I would have thought Amelia is too popular right now for MN. I've loved it forever.

Oh what's wrong with Amelia Annabel? I'd have said that was very MN (not that it matters in the slightest) It's fabulous! Great decision.

I like it.

Butterpuff · 09/06/2017 15:42

We decided. Have an Amelia Annabel. Not a popular MN name I'm guessing but we like it.

I was going to say just Anna, super classy! But her first name begins and ends with A... so like Ava Anna? Alanna Anna? Amira Anna? Not sure about that. But having said that I do know a girl called A....a A.....a Surname. I did think it was a lot of As but if you like it go for it.

Or do a completely different middle name, perhaps a fabulous frivolous name rather than one to honour someone?

^^ all that assuming your appt is this afternoon and not this morning, ha! Let us know what you went for :)

Nancy is an old and beautiful form of the name.

rizlett · 09/06/2017 05:54

Just spell Anne/Ann however you want to spell it - the in-laws will get used to it.

Twoevils · 09/06/2017 05:29

Annis which is a form of Agnes

Pemba · 09/06/2017 05:18

Anna or Annie the most obvious (and nicest).

SocksRock · 09/06/2017 00:06

My DD2 is Anwen and we use Annie and Ann as nicknames

KanyeWesticle · 08/06/2017 23:26

Can you tell us her first name?

I suggest Marianne.
