Kieran or Noah?

We wouldn't spell it Ciaran (have absolutely no connection to Ireland - people would struggle with the spelling!)

Kieran or Noah?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Magpie24 · 05/06/2017 14:48

That's actually a good point because my name was super popular when I was born and I find it a little annoying at work when there are several other women at work on the same project as me! That being said that must always be a concern for John, James, David etc!

grufallosfriend · 05/06/2017 12:22

Who cares if it's popular? Maybe Noah himself when he's in a class with 3 others.

Honeyandfizz · 04/06/2017 17:25

Noah, who cares if it's popular? If you like it use it!

seething1234 · 04/06/2017 16:56

Noah.... Kieran with a K makes me cringe.

alltouchedout · 04/06/2017 16:45

I quite like both. But pp have mentioned Keir, and that is a name I love.

TrulyFubar · 04/06/2017 16:44

I have a Ciaran and he's not had an issue with the spelling. There was this one teacher who tried calling him See-are-un though...

Alcea · 04/06/2017 16:36

I adore the name Noah.

I generally don't like names that begin with a K, very hard sounding IMO.

n0ne · 04/06/2017 16:33

Bored stiff of Noah but Kieran seems really dated - 80s specifically. Sorry, not helpful.

Magpie24 · 04/06/2017 16:28

Noah! Definitely

ScarletSienna · 04/06/2017 14:20

Kieran. Noah is used so much at the moment and over the last few years. (Plus to me it sounds like someone whining; 'No-wah')

grufallosfriend · 04/06/2017 10:59

Noah sounds weak, feminine and like a whiny No

Kieran sounds much stronger and more masculine. I much prefer it.

TrishanFlips · 04/06/2017 10:22

Kieran

catsarenice · 04/06/2017 10:20

Kieran - Noah just reminds me of a very stroppy child saying 'No' emphatically!!!

VinIsGroot · 04/06/2017 09:52

My kids do a martial art. We live in very small town in southern England. There are 3 Noah's in our martial art school!
I don't like Kieran though!

Argeles · 04/06/2017 09:50

Noah. I'm sure Kieran is a lovely name, but every Kieran I've ever encountered has been a bellend.

NannyR · 04/06/2017 09:44

Kieran - lovely name and not as popular as Noah.

NannyR · 04/06/2017 09:44

Kieran - lovely name and not as popular as Noah.

Rockaby · 04/06/2017 09:41

Keir is lovely! I prefer that to either Kieran or Noah.

TopsOff · 04/06/2017 09:10

Noah is EVERYWHERE but it's a nice name.

Kieran is rarer but I don't like it as much.

bumblingmum · 04/06/2017 09:09

Go for Kieran. There is probably at least 1 Noah in each year of my children's school.

teapotter · 04/06/2017 09:09

Kieran. Noah is way too peaky imho. When your son is an adult everyone will know his age just from his name. Kieran is more timeless.

BikeRunSki · 04/06/2017 09:06

Kieran

Noah is so common amongst boys under 6 round here, it hardly serves to identify them at all!

onesilencetoofar · 04/06/2017 09:05

Noah

17caterpillars1mouse · 04/06/2017 09:03

Kieran as when I hear Noah i think oh god not another one (and it used to be my favourite name 10 years ago)

Lemondrop99 · 03/06/2017 10:41

100% Kieran! It's a great name

Pleeeeeeeease, no more Noahs!
