Coby... am I mad for loving this name!?

My 3rd boy is due in October...
Both my husband and I like George. We have a Jack and a William already.

However... I can't shake off the name Coby.
My husband isn't keen... he thinks it's 'out there'.

Is it!? Confused

Hahaha. Thank you so much. Your replies have had me in stitches. I'm well and truly put of Coby... defo don't want anyone thinking of rapist or beef when he introduces himself haha!!

I like it.
It's different and I don't think it's way out.
Also think it goes well with his brothers names.

I've never heard of it, but that means nothing! I'm not sure it fits with the other names and I personally don't think it's got a nice ring to it, but it's your son so you should go with what feels right for you.

Isn't that the name of a high profile American basketball player accused of rape? Kobe Bryant. The spelling is different but the sound is the same. When I saw the thread, my first thought was rapist. I'm so sorry but I had to say.

As a nick name it's fine. I don't think it's substantial enough as a first name

Jacobi would work really well - I love this name.

Not very keen, I think you'll have folk equally thinking you mean Toby or Cody... It's also just a bit meh really! Not much to it. Not a brilliant sound and a bit made-uppy.

I think poor Coby will feel a bit short-changed next to William and Jack!

I prefer George. However I think Coby is fine. It isn't too out there. In Australia it's a pretty popular name, so maybe that's why I don't think it's 'out there'.

I like it but it definitely deviates from the theme you have going with your other boys. I like Cody too.
