Help! It's a boy!

I'm 33 weeks and have just found out it's a boy! Thought I was keeping an open mind but I'm so surprised!! And we don't have any boy's names!

Older sister is called Olive which is difficult to 'match' with!

Any ideas

(Everyone who hated Indigo Joan on my previous thread can be glad to know that I can't use it Grin)

I agree about Sam, it's nice but boring and there are loads about!

grufallosfriend · 06/06/2017 14:16

Moses is lovely! Classic and cool imo.

Personally I find Sam quite dull (so not everyone loves it Smile)

OhTheRoses · 06/06/2017 11:48

I agree with vintage but not Arthur although I love it. On The Buses. Probably rules out Jack and Stan (ley) too Grin

Moses is very biblical but a great name!

If you like biblical names maybe Samson or Samuel as I said. In Hebrew the meaning of the name Samson is: Sun child; bright sun.

There aren't many Sam's around and it just got rave reviews on a thread. There wasnt really anyone who didnt like it.

aroha77 · 06/06/2017 06:53

Thanks everyone, loads of ideas!

I'm leaning towards Moses today (nn Mo)...not sure if too biblical though!!

Sam is getting rave reviews on another thread. Everyone loves it.

Can be a nn for Samuel, Samson.

Samson if you prefer more unusual.

It needs to be two syllables*, I think. The one that hit me as really going well out of the suggestions above is Jasper. Leonard and Louis work well too. I don't think a biblical name really goes, as much as I love those sorts of names.

*With the caveat that you could make me vicariously happy by using Orlando - the boys' name I never got (as dh vetoed and dc3 was a girl anyway) but love and I think would go really well with Olive.

Bernard. Not unusual as such, but There's not many little Bernards running around now. Plus it's very traditional and vintage.
