Totally crushing on the name Jean. What are your thoughts on it?

Sibset would be Finn, Louis, Hector & Jean

Gosh I think it's awful - sorry! Like a PP I don't think enough generations have passed to make it "cool" or "retro". Elsie, Mabel, Violet, Edie are all ok imo - great-grandma names rather than grandma I guess. Jean, Maureen, Belinda, not so much. However, you'd probably hate my DDs' boring top 20 names so if you love it, use it!

I don't think its old enough for a comeback yet, I have still have living old relatives called Jean whose mothers were Iris & Ivy & Eedie. I'm not sure enough enough time for Jean has passed to make it cool.

If you have an energetic feisty Jean then maybe it would work, but if your Jean is quiet & conservative its not a nice name to be saddled with.

I like it. Prefer Jane and Joan, which all have the same meaning.
I know a Jean and a Jeanne (pronounced Jean), both tall slim and beautiful.

hate Joan (not sure why) but love Jean. A name that translates well across other languages. Love the nn Jeannie too. And then there is "I dream of Jeannie with the light brown hair" (I'm a sucker for victorian parlor songs/poems)

I like it.

It's the name of the little girl in 'To Kill A Mockingbird', so I'm surprised it hasn't become more popular again.

To me Jean is not the least bit cool or edgy, it's dreary & dull, almost as bad as Joan.

I absolutely love it and even had a thread on here where the genral consensus was very marmite. I didn't use it in the end as dh didn't love it but it's definitely in the bank if I have another dd. Very cool name IMHO.

V biased, love it. It's tough and cool like the fabric. We must have similar taste, OP, as the other three nsmes you've listed include DS's name and one of my top 5 in case I ever have another DS.
