Macie or Macy?

Just saw someone say that they have a Macy and it made me remember how much I love this name! Macie is the most common spelling (according to the database) but isn't Macy the original? Which spelling would you go for?

My name most commonly ends in y but my mum chose the ie option (I've only met one other ie in real life)
I am forever saying 'name with an ie' and people always spell my name wrong even though my email signature spells it right which makes me suggest opting for the more common spelling (however I think my name with y ending is not pretty so basically my input is useless 😂)

Macy just reminds me of Macy D's.

It's a nice name tho but I would go with Macie.

Macy is my preference but that's the one I've seen the most so looks right to me
