Monica hasn't become popular again as yet, it's quite a cluncky sounding name I think.

Clarissa is lovely, and I hope that it gets used more.

Although I'm an old lady my name hasn't been mentioned yet. Smile

DD2 was nearly Edith, changed our minds last minute.

I like Maude, Agatha and Agnes.

I've know girls called Lois, Mabel, Esther, Margaret and Rita.

I live in The Channel Islands and know a:

Newborn Maude (love this)
Under five Maeve (Irish parents)
Toddler Dorothy (Nn Dora)
Toddler Blanche (French mother)
School age Joan
Toddler Edith (pronounced eee-dit but with a soft t)
School age Millicent - called this an not shortened to Millie

Conversely I know several older (7+) children with "baby boomer" age names too:

Debby (she is a Debra)
Wendy
Peter x 2 in my nephew's school

Mark

I love Maude and I really like Mabel Smile

I know a Mary, an Esme, a Norah, several Florences, Ruths and a Queenie.
I like Doris as it's a family name but dh was none too keen.

Wonder if today's babies will be calling their kids Trevor, Gary, Barry, Sharon etc.

Always amuses me that Barry and Gary are scoffed at, while Harry is seen as cool.

Trevor's an odd one though. I never "got" Trevor. I suppose it's a surnamey name really and people seem to like those, so no reason why it shouldn't return.

Patricia is a name associated with St Patrick's Day, so it can turn up in any generation really. I was born in the late 1950s and there were plenty of them in my generation, but there were Mums called Patricia as well.

My 2yo DD has a vintage name and often plays with other little little girls who share names with 70s or 80s soap characters Grin

What about Maud? No one is called Maud any more.

Surprised at Patricia being grouped with Sharon and Tracey. There's loads of Patricia's who are 90+.

If I had a DD she would be Millicent Linda or Millicent Jean. I really love the name Linda, it means pretty in Spanish.

I know a little Nora. Can't help thinking 'bloody Nora' every time I hear it. Don't know where that expression comes from.

I would have thought Marjorie might get a revival due to the Game Of Thrones character with a similar name (Margaery)

I think it's quite pretty. I had an aunt named Marjorie who was known as Marnie.
