Not Jane!

Jean maybe...

Any further names which DH likes?

fourpawswhite · 10/05/2017 20:08

Sorry op that was not clear. I pronounce it like you, the kids in the playground however, lily ass. Followed by giggles.

CoralieConfused · 10/05/2017 20:04

I'm really going back and forth with Jane! 🙈

I'm not surprised by criticism exactly, it's just a bit unhelpful isn't it? They're not utterly MAD names, and I think saying 'yeah they're all dreadful' is rather unnecessary. It's not going to get me to acknowledge the error of my ways or whatever.

Juniper reminds me of this song

www.google.co.uk/search?q=jennifer+juniper&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-gb&client=safari.

I'm sure it was used in a film or TV show but can't remember which.

I know it's pronounced differently but I keep seeing Lilias as Lily-ass.

I quite like Evangaline. I would love Jane to have a resurgence.

CoralieConfused · 10/05/2017 19:59

Well I'm Scottish too, and I'd pronounce it Lilly-iss 😊

Love juniper though. But is there an old song Jennifer juniper, lives upon a hill....maybe I made that up

Squishedstrawberry4 · 10/05/2017 19:56

Clarice

fourpawswhite · 10/05/2017 19:55

Scottish here and the lillias gets pronounced Lilly ASS which is clearly not good.

spacecowboy99 · 10/05/2017 19:55

I will probably also be accused of being unhelpful, but I reckon if you are canvassing for opinions or people to come down on one side or the other I would agree with pp that both lists are pretty equally dreadful! I can't pick a favourite or worst. Jane does rather stand out from all the other names though.

Squishedstrawberry4 · 10/05/2017 19:53

Juliet

Dozer · 10/05/2017 19:52

Dislike all of them!

Squishedstrawberry4 · 10/05/2017 19:51

Juno

Hope

Squishedstrawberry4 · 10/05/2017 19:49

Hester

Squishedstrawberry4 · 10/05/2017 19:48

Heidi is similar to hebe

Squishedstrawberry4 · 10/05/2017 19:47

Hazel

Missb00 · 10/05/2017 19:45

Evangeline is pretty although now it's been replaced by January which isn't so nice. Not sure why you're surprised at the criticism though OP, you did ask for it by creating this thread.

Squishedstrawberry4 · 10/05/2017 19:44

Love Violetta Clemency Clementine honour hebe sorrel.

Dislike juniper and jane.

CoralieConfused · 10/05/2017 19:41

They're all completely awful with the exception of Jane which is just bland.

Ah joy, I do love constructive input 🕺

Ah, I see 29. Yes, that does sound quite like it. But hopefully nobody will have heard of them. I don't think I had.

SuperBeagle · 10/05/2017 19:37

29Palms · 10/05/2017 19:29

No, Rockaby, it was the sanitary towels that I was reminded of. They were called "Lilia" and were probably made by the same company as Lillets. I don't think they're around any more.

Rockaby · 10/05/2017 18:55

Lillias really doesn't sound like Lillets! Sorry I misread and brought it up in the first place. Tbh I don't think Lillas / Lilas sounds anything like Lillets either, it's just 'hilarious' people who like to say it about DH's cousin.

CoralieConfused · 10/05/2017 18:41

Lindy Bop???
